And having a 72 point season, good for 12th in the league and a second team All Star for a team that did not exist when he entered the league when he was 40. Crazy.

The longest OT games were actually a pair of 6OT epics, both in the 1930s. The Klima game from 1990 was instead the longest Cup Finals game (still is, if memory serves).

Not the NHL, but Mike Eruzione's goal comes to mind:

I'm legitimately shocked that Garry Valk's goal against the Pittsburgh Penguins in overtime of game six to send the Leafs to the 1999 Eastern Conference Finals has yet to be mentioned here. He was a serviceable role player who will forever be linked to that moment. Valk never again came close to scoring a goal of that magnitude in his career.

Edit: Nevermind, someone posted the Valk goal on the previous page. Still, what an effort to reach the puck and put it home. He'll forever be associated with that goal and a truly fun resurgent Leafs season that year.

I came here to say Henderson and Eruzione. But I will add Kovalchuk. To every Russian, it's his two goals in the 08 WHC Final game (and zero in the entire tournament prior to that) to end the 15 year draught that will stand forever.

Ugh that Baker goal still stings almost 20 years later.
