He's had a nice dozen games overall. That line, though, while fitting skill-wise, is missing some size and strength. It's made sense to do the swapping with Goose against those stronger lines, cause they were just getting pushed around, especially Hook.

That's probably his off-season need - get a little stronger. He's obviously not gonna' grow, so he's gonna' need to do whatever it is Ellis did last off-season. Sure like his hockey-sense, though; mostly he's going to the right spots and doing the right things and making the right plays - that's not been the case with most of our 22yo's. Oh, and face-offs, as mentioned earlier - although I wonder if some of that is strength related.

Like him longer-term with Smith; please get them a wing with a nasty edge that likes to park in front of the net (young Scotty Hartnell skating a little better would do nicely).

Points per game 13/14
1. Jarnkrok 0.75
2. Weber 0.71
3. Hornqvist 0.70
4. Smith 0.66
5. Fisher 0.65
6. Legwand 0.61
7. Josi 0.56
8. Cullen 0.51
9. Spaling 0.44
10. Wilson 0.41

0.75 PPG puts Jarnkrok at place 62 overall in PPG in NHL this season, 60th amongst forwards and 29th amongst centers.

EDIT: I am not trying to make any point here, I was looking over some numbers for different reasons and Jarnkrok's number stood out a bit so I thought I'd post it here.

how did jarnkrok get 7 points, 2 goals in 12 nhl games?

he is weak, non-physical and is the worst shooter in the world.

good speed, passing and hard-work...is the positive with him.

Definitely far from the worst shooter in the world.

Every time I've watched him play he's had a lazer of a wrist shot...

Lol, sure not what we witnessed in Smashville. His shot is pretty nice.

I think he's had a disappointing WC, but I've learned not to worry about what happens there, as it's usually not indicative of NHL ability. Ville Koistinen and Anttii Pihlstrom have both been historically amazing players at the WC, and we all saw how that translated to the NHL. It's a low level tournament.

Plus, Hook has just put his heart and soul into getting used to smaller ice. The adjustment back was probably difficult.

The same could be said for that thing they did in Sochi back in February.

Because this is HF, this is how I'd rank the tournaments

Stanley Cup
Winter Olympics (even though I abhor the time of year it's put on, should be more like December)
World Cup of Hockey/Canada Cup
World Junior Championships
World Championships

I'd pretty much agree with that.

???

I watched him in Milwaukee. He doesn't run people over, but I like him.
He had 18 G 27 A in 63 AHL games with 14 PIMs.

Not much talk of Calle so far this preseason. How has he been? Looks like he's penciled in as a top 6 forward.

There hasn't been much scoring in our preseason games, so I can't say much based on stats. I'm guessing he's penciled in to center one of the top 3 lines and will have until Fisher returns to convince the coaches to demote someone else when Fisher resumes play.

Well, I've got his jersey so I hope he doesn't make me sad to wear it.

Gift from my son. :-) It's the name.

I asked this in another thread, but maybe it's more suited here... how has he been looking this pre-season, and what are your expectations for him this season?

From the look of the roster, does he even fit in the top 9? Him and FF are the only two who don't have to hit waivers to go down...

He has been solid this preseason but I think his play at the end of last season may be the reason he has a spot for sure right now. When we get Cullen, Stalberg, and Fisher back he may end up being sent down but that probably has more to do with his play than anything.

Like I said above, IMO he has a top 9 spot until Fisher gets back, and in whatever timeframe that is he needs to prove that he shouldnt be sent back down. But his lack of waiver exposure certainly makes him more likely to get bumped if everyone gets healthy and his play has been unremarkable

Thanks. Has he put on any more size/muscle? TSN has him listed at 5-11 and 156 lbs, while HF has him at 5-11 and 170, while theahl has him at 6-0 and 188.

Im not as sure as others he was money at the end of last season. But IMO he has been invisable during the preseason. Perhaps I am expecting too much from him.... I really like the way he looked last year and think it will be a bad thiong if he loses a spot when the walking wounded come back to the roster.

ummm... Most currently on the roster not named Forsberg were invisible during preseason. Everyone else who wasn't invisible got cut.

Honestly I think it is just an adjustment thing. New teammates. New System. New Coaches.
