Not only that, but an over-age draftee too.

An interview with Sam Bennett from earlier this year, about twenty games in:

Quote:
3. Who do you consider to be the toughest defenceman you have faced so far in the OHL?

"Brady Austin [who was recently traded from Kingston archrival Belleville to the London Knights]. He's a big boy [6-4, 230] and he was thrown up against our line a lot when he played him."

What is Brady Austin's upside/ceiling? Is he an AHL top-pairing potential or does he have NHL ability?

I think you have to give him bottom-pairing, stay-at-home upside. It's just a question of how likely he is to reach that. I'd say quite unlikely, but it's there. He's big, he's physical, and he can move well for his size. If you can do all that then there's always the chance you can become a bottom-pairing guy.

His ceiling is Mike Weber. Most likely he tops out as a career AHLer though

This team is going to be loaded with captains in a couple years.

I was supried to see this. I thought the Sabres had given up on Austin.

It's a good signing. Put in Rochester and see what he can become.
