The second pic with Arnott celebrating looks a bit funy just because of where the puck is.

Also the pic of Calgary reminds me how much I miss snow and cold weather

Would getting a point tonight be too much to ask? Scoring a goal perhaps? I'd be happy with showing up. I hope Trotz destroyed the team last night (doubtful). We've had one hell of a season and we're letting it slip away here towards the end. I know the injuries have played the biggest part in this, but we just show no life.

Hate to say it, but I think the streak ends tonight. We're banged up, but what we have left in the lineup should be enough to win on most nights...but not when you play heartless games like last night.

I think what is killing us is that the pieces we are using on the third and fourth line......well....they suck (outside of Legwand), and so does Abid on the second line. These guys are not forming cohesive groups, and frankly, Fiddler has always been a fourth liner at best. Right now we are looking at a scoring line, an incomplete scoring line with a huge liability defensively (Abid), a scorer (legwand) on a line full of 4th line checkers, and a makeshift energy line that really provides zero energy and are all defensively unsound.....The team is imbalanced right now, which really means that our specialty team play HAS to win us games. We need PP goals tonight....

Don't tell the other Wings fans, but I'm rooting for you tonight. After the BS way the refs called our game in Calgary, I wanna see them get thrashed in a big way. Drop double digits on Kipper and Iggy. Check a ref or two if you get a chance!

I just hope you get a better ref job. Calgary was playing their usual clutch-and-grab style yet had a 5-0 PP advantage going into the 3rd period (ended up with 5-1 PP edge). Only reason we even got 1 PP was Datsyuk got hauled down after splitting the defense.....

Amen. Earlier in the year (when we were actually healthy), an opposing team could focus on shutting down our Kariya line or even our Sullivan line and it was not a big deal. Another line would pick up the slack and generate for us... right now, we have such varying skill levels & our chemistry is so loosey goosey (technical term), its a wonder we are not losing by bigger margins.

Our Penalty Kill was incredible last night or maybe Vancouver's power play was not at its best. Either way, my biggest complaint about this team is not that we don't shoot enough, but that we have such difficulty clearing the freaking zone! I can't tell you how many times I have yelled at the TV for us to keep it simple and get the puck out of the defensive zone. Oh well, I'm sure we'll come out with a little more fire tonight (no pun intended re: Flames).

Let's win one for the Foppa!

if anyone cares, the "stats and stuff" from the preds website are now available.

also, i officially moved sully from OUT to the DOUBTFUL(day-2-day) after reading the preds "stats and stuff" info. yeah i know it doesn't mean that much, but at least it is progress and better than OUT.

made a correction as to the start time(for some reason i thought calgary was on PST rather than MST, why i can't say) for TV and radio from 8:30 CST to 7:30 CST.

fun fact: we are 11-8-0 in the 1st game of b2bs and 13-3-2 in the 2nd game.

I may be a Flames fan, but I whole-heartedly disagree. Calgary is usually brutal for taking too many penalties and the refs aren't afraid to call them against the Flames, but they were disciplined against Detroit. If anything, the pp advantage should have been greater for Calgary, as the Wings hooked, interfered, and held a lot more than I expected. I think there's truth to the common belief that teams like Toronto, Detroit, and the Rangers get the benefit of the doubt for calls, so it was nice to see it go the other way for once.

Don't blame the refs, WingsFan. If you can't score more than one goal in any game, you don't deserve to win.

Wow. Are you serious?

The Flames played a disciplined game, and it paid off. They may have gotten away with a few things, but the Wings got away with just as much, if not more. The Wings took so many penalties as a result of them hooking down players in their own zone after they blew by them or outworked them.

Usual clutch-and-grab style? That's just a freaking stupid remark by you. I've seen nothing to indicate the Flames play a clutch-and-grab style. If you want to see clutch-and-grab, watch Minnesota.

this looks carbon copy of the game last night.

We started out wiht a couple of strong shifts in Calgary's end, and now Calgary has us bottled up and has 2 near goals.

And...*** does the center ice feed(calgary's) look like it's being shot through a sepia filter?

They've got Peverley and Abid sprinkled in on the top lines, and I see what Trotz is trying to do...trying to keep the talent evenly distributed, rather than one AWFUL line. The problem is that these guys are killing the little chances we are getting...bobbling the puck, missing passes, sending passes to no one.
