Kostitsyn for Samsonov

That's our deadline trade right there.

And that's all I had to say.

PS: accidently submited before my post was ready.

There's a guy who signs his posts; they laugh at him.

Can we give the Mitchell/post signing thing a rest already? It was already old at like 3pm this afternoon.

On topic, I bet Kostitsyn is Sergei Samsonov's least favorite player in the NHL right now.

Well the post was submited accidently while I was editing the title. I hit enter before I could check exactly what I wrote. By the time I fixed it you had already posted.

Sammy for Kosty wasn't just our deadline deal, is was the deal of the deadline! Now, we just gotta figure out the best way to get rid of the cancer for good.

It doesn't help that a lot of official sources misspell it, too....

Namso and co.,

I believe that the young player we are talking about in this thread has a difficult name to spell. NHL.com can't even get it right.

Kastsitsyn (http://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreport...7/GS021102.HTM)

Dan Mitchell.

Isn't Kastsitsyn the right way to spell it, and he americanized his name for Kostitsyn, which is the right way to pronounce it?

Heard this on CKAC on Monday, the NHL has in its central registry the name on the player's passport. For Kosty, it's Andrei Kastistsyn on his passport. So it looks like they will continue to call him that in everything related to the NHL brand.

You're right. It should be spelled Kastsitsyn because that matches the Russian pronunciation. I'm taking a course in Russian and that's the way my teacher sees it. The Cyrillic (Russian) alphabet is different from the Roman alphabet we use.
