Ryan White. 6'0" and 200lbs. Just turned 19 the other day. Wow big lad with hands and a Center. Maybe our #1 center in a couple more years.

A lot of teams had him rated very high but it seems like during the evaluations before the draft, he was a little overweightand teams did not want him for that reason. I was thrilled that we got him when we did (4th round) as I believe that central scouting had him in the top 40.

No you don't. The guy feeds off of Mueller, better to stay away from that softie.

Very cool! Sergei will most likely be on the first all-star in the OHL as well.

If 25% of this talent translates to the NHL, I like our chances for a cup in '09.

He never came back from his mid-season injury, finished 29-19-34-53 (1.8 ppg), which is too bad cause he was having a great season. On the other hand congrats to Price and White, Hamilton bound next season?

If he's available when the Habs pick, I would say you may get your wish. I know the scouting staff likes him.

Hamill is starting to grow on me - he's playing better than he was earlier in the season, and isn't as reluctant to go into traffic as he used to be; I think he's finally figuring it out. We may have been overly critical of his "softness" before. He's by no means a great skater, but he's a top ten talent in this year's draft, and may end up going there at the end of the day.

Better to be wrong about a guy in February than wrong in June tho.

Why are you talking about AHL objectives when what interests most of us is the potential of the guy at the NHL level?

definetly not a number one center in the future. Ryan White has all the tools to develop into a solid third liner.... I wouldn't mind seeing a line of White, Chipper and Laps

With White and Laps moving to the wing? Or Chips on the wing? Isn't White really good on the draw?

Well it was actually 39-19-34-53 for a 1.36 ppg but yeah he was having a great season too until it was cut short by injuries.

Any idea of who else the Habs scouting is high on? They seem to need another defenceman with good potential, and they love the American-born ones, could someone like Petrecki interest them?

Also, we all know we need a top centreman, will they go for an purely offensive one (i.e. Esposito or Veilleux) or settle for a two-way guy with offensive upside (Sutter, Andersson)?

Well the thing is he is a guy who loves to go in the corners and he has scoring potential. That's more of a winger style. The "smarter" players (i.e. Chipchura) should be the centremen. I think they would compliment each other very well. I could see a future 3rd line like this:

White - Chipchura - D'Agostini

Only thing is White is a natural centreman, so he would have to adapt to the wing, and both him and Matt shoot Right, but that shouldn't pose a huge problem.

That was fully expected, they had great seasons

Interesting to see Wishart is up there too, the guy the Sharks picked when we traded down. Avs pick Ray Macias seems like an interesting player, RH D-man with 70-pts in 70games from California..kinda unusual.

Eat it Irving.

Btw Hamill would be an excellent choice.

The only time he ever plays with Mueller is on the PP, the guy won the scoring title playing only 2nd line and PP.
