We've got a great lineup for this week, headlined by Columbus Blue Jackets star Sergei Fedorov and FOXSports.com's Hockey Rodent.
Sergei Fedorov, Columbus Blue Jackets: In 1990, while CSKA Moscow was in Seattle for the Goodwill Games, a 20-year-old Sergei Fedorov quietly slipped out of his hotel room and onto an airplane bound for Detroit. His defection from the former Soviet Union enabled him to begin an incredible NHL career that's seen him win the Stanley Cup (three times with the Red Wings), the Hart Trophy (NHL MVP), the Lester B. Pearson Award (NHLPA MVP), and the Selke Trophy (best defensive forward). Now a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets, Sergei will come on the show this week to talk about the progress the team has made under head coach Ken Hitchcock, and to give us the latest on his recent transition from forward to defense.
The Hockey Rodent, FOXSports.com: This freelance sports columnist and statistician was bitten by a squirrel 10 years ago. Now he's one of them. Just don't confuse furry for friendly. Pet the rabid rodent at your own peril. You'll find him at HockeyRodent.com and at FOXSports.com The Rodent will come on this week's show to talk about the hotly contested Eastern Conference playoff race, helping us to break down which teams will be in—and which will be out—when the regular season concludes.
And of course, we'll "Make the Right Call" with former NHL referee Paul Stewart, go "Between the Pipes" with Brian Daccord, get the "Campus Buzz" with Bob Snow of NHL.com, go back in time with Mike Wyman's "The Golden Years" (this week featuring Toe Blake), and finish things off in "The Sin Bin" with PJ Stock.
Hosted by James Murphy, Kevin Greenstein, and former NHL All-Star Kevin Stevens, the Inside Hockey Radio Show can be heard on the following stations and times:
