Atlanta area Ranger Fans?

just wondering if its just me and ATLANTARANGER who live in the area.

if by some chance the Thrashers manage to play the Rangers in the playoffs it would be cool to go as 1 big group...

I lived in ATL for nearly 9 years (92-01) but would definitely consider flying down for a playoff game. I'm already planning on being there from May 3-6 so who knows who will be playing then.

Did you guys go to the game last Friday?

I was in Atlanta at a sales conference last week and couldn't fly out on Friday because of the ice storm. I was really tempted to stay for the game, but didn't really want to take it in alone. So....I rented a car and drove home to NY.

I lived there for about 3 years. Good place, but I belong in the North.

Hopefully Marian Hossa is a fan. Maybe so much so that he'll want to come by in a year or so.

Not in Atl, I'm in Charlotte. If the Rangers play the Thrashers in round 1, I've gotta find a way to a game... the drive would be worth it.

My oldest daugther lives in Valdosta Ga and Tallahassee is about an hour & a half from there. From Valdosta to Atlanta is about three and a half hours. So all told it should take about 5 hours. Be very careful about the speed traps along I75, especially around the Perry area. Their favorite ploys are sitting on the overpasses or both the side facing you and on the reverse side as you exit the overpass and on the reverse slope of hills.

You would be about 4 hours, but if it is during rush hour add another hour.

That's what I figured about. Worth it for a playoff game... during the regular season, Raleigh is closer.

I'd probably make a day of it and travel during the late morning.

18 hours, but travel was slow north of Washington, DC and roads were unplowed north of exit 4 on the NJ Turnpike. I probably could have shaved 3 hours off if I had my car with the Bridgestone Blizzaks on it. A rental "cute-ute" with all-seasons is not the most confidence inspiring vehicle in an ice storm.

once in my MR2 I did it in 14hrs from Duluth GA to Poughkeepsie. Now I caugt a good tail win. Also stay away from I95, I go I84 to I81 to I77 to I85. You stay away from all the major cities and plus you see some nice scenary.

Damn that must have been a white-knuckle affair. I was supposed to drive to Ohio on i-80 that weekend but called it off because of the weather.

I lived there. Actually Lagrange. The family had moved down to our home in Duluth while I finished up work in NY. I moved after the cup in 94.

If it turns out we will be playing the Thrashers, i will be going to the game, but solo, if any of you guys are also going, maybe we can go as a large group or something.

PM me to let me know.

The only problem is it looks like games 1 & 2, in Atlanta, will occure during a week night. Shame the playoffs don't start this week, I'll be there tomorrow through the weekend.

Got lucky though, the Mets are in town starting this Friday, I grabbed two tickets, WOO HOO!

I'm OTP in the Alpharetta area.

Waiting on a 6 & 3 finish from the NYR & Thrash.

I was at the last NYR & Thrash game, my first one this season. I had tix for the other one in Atl but since my wife was on bed rest with the pregnancy we couldn't go. Actually, she wanted to go really badly but I really didn’t feel like fighting a crowd to the hospital in case the kid dropped mid 2nd period.

If there are NYR play off games here in ATL I’m going to find a way to see them.

Does anyone else who used to live in a town where there has been hockey for a long time find the way the Thrash org is selling hockey in this town interesting?
