I've seen it in all sports in the playoffs, when optimism on your team's chances go down, so do ticket prices. When the Phillies were taking a run at the world series and they were up in 2008, get in the door was like $500-$600. The next year when they were down, you could get in for low $100's. If the Habs win Monday then game 5 tickets will go crazy well above $300. If they lose then it's look out below.

But I think prices for tomorrow have bottomed. They'll be going up steadily tonight and tomorrow morning after the shock of game 1 has worn off and people realize there's potentially 6 games left to be played

Nice theory, but if this were truly the case here, why were tickets for game 1 selling below face? You telling me optimism was low before the series even started? Not a chance! And don't kid yourself, optimism isn't low right now either. It's just one game, I believe you'll be wishing you could carry over some of those game 1 goals soon enough.

They are selling for cheap because the market is completely flooded with re-sellers. Seems like all of the "lucky" ones to get tickets when they went on sale were looking to make a buck on them. But now with the market flooded, they are just looking to save face before it's too late. Many of these re-sellers don't even live near Montreal so couldn't go to the game even if they wanted to. It's panic time for them.

You'd have to be born yesterday not to know that it's "HNIC", not "HAIC"

You'd have to be born yesterday not to know that habs fans will be out in full bore no matter what time the game. It's the conference finals, against a team we've had much success against!

Your theory about low optimism or poor game start time doesn't hold water for tonights game either. The series is 0-1 not 0-3. Optimism is still very high!

Market is flooded with re-sellers, bottom line! Stub hub has tickets for pretty much every section. Then there is ebay, craigslist, scalpers in front of the bell centre, official ticket vault, local classifieds etc.. The vultures were looking to make money here, little did that know that pretty much everybody else was a vulture too and now re-seller competition is sky high. There is literally thousands upon thousands of tickets out there through re-sellers and the game starts in less than 11 hours.

You couldn't be more wrong, the fanbase was devastated after Saturday, if the Habs win tonight then they're going to go crazy again. Resellers have nothing to do with these prices, there were much more ticket flippers involved with the Bruins series and yet Blues were going for $275 in that one. There's a limited supply, no matter who the guy is that's doing the selling. The price will track the fan's enthusiasm

Yeah, because Price was apparently injured and it was a tough loss. But Price is playing tonight, and heads tend to cool down the day after, of course emotions are going to run high at the time. You are a friggin moron if you think habs fans have thrown in the towel("low optimism") or that an afternoon start time is going to hold us back! You have no clue what you are talking about. Americans....

Ticket prices crash since the announcement that Price is out. I've seen a pair of Clubs for 300$/pair, Whites for under 300$/pair, greys for 250$/pair on kijiji.

Hello everyone, I'm from NJ looking to come up to MTL this year for the World Jrs.

My group is about 4 people, and we plan on staying from December 26th - Jan 1.

I'm probably going to go ahead and buy the 13 game package or whatever, but I'm looking to only go to the USA games (this does include USA/Canada).

I'm willing to sell all the rest of the games, so I figured that maybe some of you would be interested in buying the 3 Canada games or whatever game, I really don't care, I just want to go to the USA games lol.

Please message me if you have any q's!
