Injuries to the defense

I was unaware until today's broadcast that Strudwick will be unable to dress during the playoffs. This means we need to get either tyutin or rachunek back in the lineup.

So, what is the status of each player?

I think they said Tyutin might be back later this week, which would be awesome.

Yup, Tyutin is skating and will hopefully be back in the lineup for Saturday's game in Philly.

Pock deserves to play

Strudwick also cannot play in the playoffs, Pock has more offensive skills, and has a chance as a future player. Strudwick is 30 +, nice guy, good team guy, but limited player....

Pock should stay in the lineup............

I'm a Renney supporter big time, but I guarantee he'll make the wrong decision and sit Pock instead of Strudwick. That's the whole reason Struds was brought in because they didn't want so many young kids on the blueline. If anyone saw how bad Blake burned Strudwick today and just how slowwwwwwwwwwwww this guy is I think it's pretty obvious Pock should play. But I'm sure it won't be that way....atleast for the last 5 or so games if Toots is back Saturday....IFFFFFFFFFF we make the playoffs, it'll be interesting...

I think it is an easy decision to sit Strudwick when Toots come back, but the question is who sits when Rachunek comes back? It's not gonna be Mara, Malik, Rozsival, Toots, or Girardi, so it looks like Pock would be the odd man out.

strudwick was brutal on a few plays today.. his foot speed is something that is deffintely missing.. pock should stay in the lineup in my opinion, he's been better then i could of expected of him..

I'm all for youth but i'd rather Strudwick in there instead of Pock.... Just not a fan of Pock and dont think he'll be here next year either.

It will only be for a couple games anyway so it doesnt matter a ton.

IMO, pock will be sitting when tyutin comes back.

I'm not really sure what the benefit is in keeping Strudwick in the lineup over Pock once Tyutin returns. Assuming Tyutin plays on Saturday, that would make 5 more games that Strudwick is eligible for. Why not let Pock get the experience since he's gonna be the one who's around should they still be playing after that.

i agree, he seems to be playing with confidence.. why mess with that and set him back.. leave him in, and sit strudwick.. he's done nothing to get yanked and has speed which strudwick does'nt..

These couple of games will likely determine our season, so I would say it does matter a ton.

Why isn't Strudwick allowed to play in the playoffs? I remember hearing it on today's game, but I didn't catch why.

I have a feeling Pock will sit when Toots returns. But it doesn't make much of a difference, really, since Rachunek will replace the one that doesn't sit for Tyutin.

I am very confident that Struds will sit. He is a complete mess out there on the ice.

I mean, we have started to play a really strict system the last couple of month, with everone in special roles. It would suprise me allot of Pck, who have played quite well lately, and can play the role Renney wants him to do, are sat in favor of someone who can't.

I've always liked Struds, I got nothing against him, but he is in allot deeper over his head then Kaspar was.

Nah, Pck will play, would bet allot on that, Struds will sit.
