Just as the title says, what do you think is the biggest of the new division rivalries for the Lightning (not counting the Panthers) now that they have completed one season in the Atlantic (nee Northeast) Division.

I would say Boston, due to the fact that the Rays and Red Sox have had a spirited rivalry in baseball in recent years.

After recent events I would say Boston and Montreal, I think I might hate Montreal more than Boston right now.

I don't know if we're competitive enough with Boston just yet. I see them more as a measuring stick than a true rival.

MTL started to feel like a rivalry last season before the playoffs. With the Bishop/Prust incident and the Bishop/Price showdowns.

Montreal, Philly, and Boston. I consider them greater rivals than Florida at the moment. Beating Florida doesn't feel as good as beating them.

Well I was rooting for the Bruins against Montreal so I wore this
But now I can't find an icon to replace it..tried making one but it comes out extremely small on this site.

Scale the avatar you made to 125px x 125px and it should work fine.

I've never even considered the Panthers as much of a rival. The last time they were good was in the late '90s. Only once in 20 years have both the Panthers and Lightning been playoff teams and I'm not sure this will happen anytime soon, either. We're just two hockey teams in the same state so *RIVALRY* is supposed to happen, I guess.

I thought Lightning-Capitals was the closest thing to a rivalry the Lightning have had. Habs and Bruins are way out of the Lightning's league to really consider them rivals; I mean, we might view them as rivals here from Tampa, but I really doubt Bruins fans or Habs fans view some sunbelt '90s team that's usually been terrible as a real "rival" to the teams the root for.

No offense meant to anyone who thinks so but I have never felt there was EVER a rivalry between us and the Panthers and to even act like it is forced. Philly, Montreal, DC and even Boston are bigger rivals to us than them.

When was the last time both teams were actually good at the same time?

Boston. Every game this year had lots of hits and lots of fights. I really enjoyed watching them even though we lost everyone. I don't really hate Bruins but there is players you can hate with reason. Marchand, Lucic, maybe Chara.

Boston just seems to be the kind of team that is every teams rival. Plus the 2011 series adds some fuel to that fire.

Montreal and Tampa are going to be the best 2 teams in the Atlantic (maybe the East) soon and will have a really good rivalry IMO.

As others have said Boston (2011 ECF) and Montreal (2014 ECQF).

I don't think we have any rivals, which is a bit sad, the teams you guys list are a bit the flavour of the season.

If this format keeps up new rivalries may arise but only time will tell.

Rivalries are born in the playoffs. We have to become regulars in the playoffs.

Yeah, we really don't have any rivalries yet. For a while I would have said Philly. Something weird always happens in Philly-TB games.

Give us a couple years of being a decent playoff team and it will happen, but we're not there yet.

I wouln't call Montreal a rival just because we met them in the playoffs. Or either Florida just because they are in same state.

Florida really isn't a rival.

I'd still say Boston. There isn't a team I want to beat more in the playoffs than them.

I don't know if it's a rivalry but I really hate Boston, but then again I felt this way in the old division set up as well.

I could see us having a rivalry with teams like Toronto and Montreal if next season is similar to the previous one in which all three teams were fighting for spots 2 and 3 (until Toronto imploded ).

It's a shame we were split from Caps because there was definitely something there, also agree that our Philly games always feel like a rival game.

When Bolts play Boston I want to jump through the TV and re - arrange the faces off those cocky bastads. So yeah I want to beat that dirty Boston team more than any other. Marchand is the worst...instigates then runs behind Lucic and that ugly tall worm looking fella. Problem is if we go to war against that team with Stammer, Johnson, Drouin, Kucherov, Filp, etc...we'll get eaten alive and it will get ugly fast.
