Now let's only hope he doesn't fall in the same category as Garth Murray

Garth Murray sucked from the very beginning. Didn't know how to play hockey. Weise can actually stickhandle and skate with the puck without tripping himself in his laces.

Excellent contract for an outstanding fourth liner. Really showed what he's capable of this season.

Get Dominic Moore or Brian Boyle and the Habs have a 4th line that can play some good hockey (Bournival/Prust - Boyle - Weise).

The habs need a 4th line they can play regularly and trust in all situations.

Derek MacKenzie is the way to go IMHO if we want a good 4th line center.

hahaha went through the exact same thought process (except I'm on an HTC One)

Real happy with this signing, he won't be a top line player but he's great in his role, for $1M you can't complain

You can't play Moen-Prust-Weise in most/all situations?

Not to say Prust-Boyle-Weise wouldn't be fantastic but I think we've got more pressing needs and more depth than we can handle. Bourque, Bournival, and Briere could all spend time on the 4th line.

I dont think we will have a chance at Boyle. But I could really see us going for Moore. I'm expecting he'll ask for 2 mill though.

But him and Weise on a fourth line... man that would be great.

It was a fair market value deal:

If he elected for arbitration, #canadiens Dale Weise comparable was between $900 000 and 1.2M$ per season. #tvasports

Perhaps I think a little too highly of him but I still think Prust-White-Weise line would be a fantastic fourth line. I'd welcome a Boyle or MacKenzie signing but we already have White who has come a long way within in organization.

Lets be honest though, we'll probably end up with Prust-Brier-Weise for more of the year.

An important thing to remember with Dale Weise's new two-year deal is that it will come off Montreal's cap as soon as Lucic murders him.

Moen is on his last legs because of the concussions (a shame) and Prust isn't a good centre, not to mention that he's being held together with duck tape.

Moore, Weise and Bounival as a 4th line would be a major pain the ass with their speed. I wouldn't even be worried much about their matchups and zone starts. There is also the potential there to chip in some offense.

Wiese can pull a page out of Lucic's book and just ignore him and refuse to fight....
