don't know if you're counting WHA or not, but JC Tremblay led the Nordiques in scoring in 72-73.

14G/75A's. 1st Team All Star. Won the Dennis (one of the founder's of the ABA, WHA, Roller Hockey Intl & World Team Tennis) Murphy Trophy as the WHA's Best Defenceman 72-73 at 34yrs of age.

We don't have voting results for the WHA but the all stars on d in that year were

First Team

JC Tremblay and Paul Shmyr

Second Team

Jim Dorey and Larry Hornung

Here is a link to the WHA all star teams in their history a much better group of forwards than Dmen.

how about defensemen who led stanley cup winners in scoring? that's got to be a short list right? off the top of my head:

pilote
tremblay
orr (tie)
macinnis
leetch
niedermayer (tie)
