Looking at the hockey geek stats. Umberger stinks. Hartnell is the better player by a good margin.

This will make Clb harder to play against, although I have to wonder if Hartnell's best days are behind him.

That remains to be seen. At the moment, however, this is a good looking deal for Columbus.

Brodziak's cap hit is pretty manageable. He doesn't even make $3m. If Miller is the better player, than he knocks out Brodziak anyway.

Flyers already used their compliance buyouts on Briere and Bryzgalov so they're stuck with Umberger.

Scott Hartnell has a NMC, so couldn't be sent to the minors. Umberger has an NTC. If he doesn't work out, he'll be off the team.

First instinct was 'they wanted a big center', and natrually you gotta overpay... But Philly already got their big center, or even two of them.

Or? Is Lecavalier leaving?

It is. I just have to wonder if the Hartnell we saw during the playoffs will be more of the guy that plays moving forward.

Any where I can go for a list of who has compliance buyouts left and who they might be used on?

Could he be a 4th line player, who uses his body to be a forechecker, and is given more minutes to play on the powerplay? Certainly could be.
Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it only reported that he paid attention to NYR allowing him to step in and practise with the team (he couldn't go to the AHL)?

Is Hags II really better than Kristo?

Fast is ahead of Kristo. Fast was used in a "AO" role on the PP in HFD, sniper at the left circle. I don't think Fast was good enough this year, but hopefully he can have a big summer. Add a lot of weight and explosiveness.

There's your list of compliance buyouts. The list is sortable, so click on teams to see how many they've used. Everyone gets two.

Hockeys Future has Kristo as our top prospect.

Not even remotely comparable. Granlund is way better than Silfverberg.

It isn't happening.
