If you are interested in Mike Green, send an offer. He will likely be dealt today. Top offer is a good prospect and a top 15 pick.

We have re-signed the following RFAs:

Justin Fontaine - 2 years $750k/yr
Jason Zucker - 2 years $750k/yr
Darcy Kuemper - 2 years $900k/yr

Kyle Brodziak is available. He is a useful 3rd liner but has been overtaken by Haula and we could better spend his money elsewhere. Matt Cooke and Keith Ballard are similarly available. Still looking for a taker on Niklas Backstrom.

are happy to confirm Brouwer brings us more size and physicality in the top 6. A recent 25 goal scorer this year with crushing body checks is exactly what we were looking for the start the offseason.

I have decided that I will either trade the 1st overall pick as part of a deal for a proven, young top level talent or I will keep the pick. If interested, let me know as I've got a few deals I'm mulling over and hope to make a decision later today.

Dmitri Kulikov is available for a similarly aged and potential LW'er.

Looking to move Tomas Fleischmann for a veteran 4/5 d-man or picks/prospects. Had a down year, but is one season removed from 60 point production. One more season at a reasonable cap hit.

Tomas Kopecky, Scottie Upshall and Sean Bergenheim are all available for cheap.

From Hogtown to Motown; Leafs send Phaneuf to Detroit

The Toronto Maple Leafs made the first major move towards changing the culture of their franchise today, agreeing to a blockbuster deal just days before the draft by sending captain Dion Phaneuf to the Detroit Red Wings.

"We had preferred the idea of moving Dion out west, but a deal with Detroit made the most sense in terms of what we're trying to accomplish with this team." Leafs GM TribalPhoenix stated in a conference call today.

In exchange for Phaneuf, the Leafs acquired Detroit's 1st round selection int he upcoming entry draft (15th overall), as well as prospects Martin Frk and Xavier Ouellet.

"In acquiring another 1st rounder, we've got an opportunity to snag a prospect who can help rebuild our prospect pool. We also acquire a dynamic young forward in Martin Frk who we are very high on, and who is going to instantly fortify the offensive punch with the Marlies. Xavier Ouellet is also a prospect who has top 4 defenceman written all over him, and we are very excited about with some tantalizing offensive ability. Overall, we are very happy with this trade."

Wearing a new Jacket; Leafs send Lupul, pick to Columbus

The Toronto Maple Leafs have executed their second deal to change the makeup of their roster, this time sending winger Joffrey Lupul to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

"Joffrey is a very talented winger who really found his footing in Toronto, but this is a team that needs change. And it's change that we're bringing... we are fully confident Joffrey will carry his talents to Columbus on a club that really appears to have taken the next step."

In exchange for Lupul, the Leafs have acquired Columbus's 1st round selection, 16th overall, in the upcoming entry draft. Columbus will also acquire Edmonton's 4th round selection in the same draft.

"We're trying to turn over a roster and make steps towards rebuilding the core of our club. Another 1st round selection certainly doesn't hurt our prospects, and we believe the value is there for us to start looking at a true step forward. It may be two steps back to take one step forward, but we're confident that step forward is the path to success.'

confirm

GM Habsfannick was all smiles when announcing the deal "we firmly believe that Dion is a solid top pairing Dman and we believe with the proper coaching and surrounding cast can return to true 1D status. We hate to give up so many good promising assets but with guys like Nyquist, Mantha, Jurco and Tatar the wings were too full for Frk to get a shot and Ouellet is a guy we really liked but felt was expendable to get a top quality player" It is a bit of a gamble with his contract but in the right environment Detroit seems to believe that Dion will be worth every penny of it.

With the acquisition of Brouwer and Phaneuf GM Habsfannick seems to be showing the rest of the league that Detroit means business in the physicality department

We've unfortunately had some big deals fall through the past couple days. Still searching for a #1C, top 4 RHD, and an upgrade in net. Nino, Spurgeon, Dumba, 1st 2014, 1st & 2nd 2015, and a variety of prospects like Olofsson, Lucia, Phillips are all available. Open to moving Zucker, Haula, Fontaine, or Kuemper as well.

This is aside from Brodziak, Harding, Backstrom, Cooke, Ballard being available for mid picks/prospects.

Truth.

trades Shea Weber to for

Shea Theodore, Emerson Etem, Jakob Silfverberg, 10th overall, 24th overall, and a 2015 1st round pick

Tough to trade a dman as good as Shea but this is how we kickstart a rebuild

Waiver Alert

Richard Clune and Carter Hutton have been waived with intent to send to the AHL due to lack of roster space

Yay. Trades!

Evander is a young forward with a huge future in the NHL. We felt he needed a change of scenery and slotting in alongside John Tavares will really bring his offensive development to its peak. Thrilled to bring in a player like Kane.
Jets confirm

Team and Kane needed to part ways. This trade gives the Jets a good centerpiece to go along with some of our other young talent in future

''Brandon is a complete beast. He's a complete pain to play, he's exactly to type of guy we want to build with. He's a guy you win with, a real character player and leader''.

He's a character guy, wasn't drafted in the OHL, wasn't drafted in his 1st year of egibily in the NHL, but never stop worked and showed a lot of character. We want guy like him in our system,we really like his upside. Good luck to Keith and Antoine in Columbus".

Thanks to DongHabs for the smooth negotiations.

Confirm. It was a tough price to pay but Lupul will add some scoring to the lineup. It was really hard to move Brandon and Boone but Antoine will help fill the hole at center and Keith improves our blueline.
