Don't tell me now especially you wouldn't love to have Darcy Tucker on your team telling how you guys seem to dig Sean Avery ever since he joined the NYR.

Isn't it great to have a talented pest on your team? We can now share the feeling Rangers fans.

Some of us remember the talented pest Esa Tikkanen. Now HE could get under people's skins! As opposed to Ulf Samuelson and Jeff Beukeboom who just hurt people. (Apologies to Cam Neely fans.)

Don't compare Avery and Tucker! Tucker is just an a--hole cheap shot artist who possesses no discernible talent whatsoever!!!

Just kidding, I just wanted to feel what it was like to be an Islanders fan.

Avery and Tucker really are very similar. And everyone wants to have a player like that on their team (even if they don't admit it) and hates them if they're wearing the wrong color jersey. Just a fact of life.

Tucker's goal scoring ability > Avery's goal scoring ability.

Either way, I love all agitators. They're so awesome.

Lots of us Ranger fans wanted Tucker. However Avery is a very similar player. Both are extremely valuable. Cheers.

Before the trade of Avery, I've heard several Rangers fans whine that they would never accept a player like Tucker on their team.

It seems like it now.

The vast majority of Ranger fans would love to have Tucker. What it would take to get Tucker in a trade (if he were available) on the other hand, not so much.

Short-term memory issues, as both the beloved Captain and the afore mentioned ET both played those roles very well.

Where? Not here, that's for sure...Avery (Tucker) is the type of player we have needed and screamed about for so long..A talented pain in the arse..It's good to have two players (Avery and Hollweg) hated by most other team and their fans..Now, get us big PF and we'll be in business..

id love to see an Hollweg Avery Tucker line Too bad Tucker resigned. Id love Hartnell on the Rangers. He is a young power forward who is UFA. id give him 5.5 at most per year for 4 years.

You care to explain what the heck Hartnell has ever done that warrants a 5.5 million dollar deal for 4 years? The guy doesn't even have a 30 goal season in his career, for crying out loud...

The agitator thing can be funny sometimes. Hated Ulf and Kaspar before they came here. Loved Tik but before he came to us he did his agitating out west so we weren't the recipient of too many of his escapades. Wasn't jazzed about giving up too much for Avery--especially hearing a lot of negatives about his personality. In retrospect Cliche is a pretty good prospect but Avery has not only agitated but brought (so far) a good personality with him and actually a very smart up tempo two way game. What I also like about Avery is he doesn't screw around with the puck--when he has a chance to shoot or make a play that's exactly what he does--otherwise he heads for the net. Can't argue that this deal has been excellent for us.

If you really want to know what it's like to be an Islanders fan, you will have to do a lot worse than that. Go put your head between a vise and at the same time have a horse kick you in the scrotum. Maybe then you'll start to know how it feels to be an Islanders fan.

And for what it is worth, most Islander fans do not contest that Sean Avery possesses decent hockey talent.

If we had Avery and Tucker there would be assisination attempts made by every other team in the league.

I'd love a line of Avery, Hollweg, and Tucker.

The most hated line in the league.

That would be awesome

Love Avery so far, brought secondary scoring and energy and a young veteran presence to the team and added a new dimension which has pushed us up the standings great trade so far

Well said lol.

I would call Avery a poor man's Tucker. They have similar skills though Tucker is much more established as a scoring threat. But Avery is young and I hope he catches up.

The one thing Avery does that I don't like is diving on the goalie. While I appreciate the effort, he will get called for that one more times than not.

Aside from the Jagr for Anson Carter deal, I can't think of a single trade in the past 5-7 years that has been better than this one. An expandable prospect due to our depth, a guy who shouldn't be in the nhl, and a guy who doesn't even want to come to the NHL for a prospect and a guy who does everything. I was a little skeptical of the trade at first, but in retrospect it was a no-brainer.

Sean Avery is on pace for 47 points; and half of his games were with one of the crappiest teams in hockey. Overrated??? I can't think of many deals that are better than the production they get out of Avery vs. his contract (excluding rookie contracts).

I would throw Wendall Clark in there. Billy Smith too.

Other guys off the top of my head: Tochett, Daneyko, Fleury was def. a pest, Kenny the Rat, Dave Schultz...
