two 600-goal scorers?

Hi all,

I just realized (not sure why I didn't earlier) that Shanahan and Jagr both have over 600 goals...does anyone know if there's ever been another team that had two 600-goal scorers playing for them at the same time? The only other one I can think of is the Rangers team that had Messier and Gretzky playing at the same time.

Any others?

I was the game when Shanny got his 600th (I believe it was the opener against Wash) and the game where they had the ceremony.

And yes, first team to have 2 at once.

Off the top of my head, I thought maybe Gretzky and Marcel Dionne, but then I realized they never played together in LA. My other though is Robitaille and Hull when they played together in Detroit. Otherwise, I doubt it.

2001 wings had Hull (+600), Yzerman(+600), Robitaille(+600), Shanahan (+500), Fedorov (+400), Duschesne (+200), Larionov (+100), Chelios (+100), Lidstrom(+100), oh and Sean Avery (2)..

i knew there was a reason they won the cup that year

Ah so I was right about Robitaille and Hull. Man how the hell did i forget about Stevie Y? I knew he hit 600 but I thought it was after 2001. Very nice call.

looking at the stats on hockeydb Yzerman finished with 692 goals, take away the ones from 2001-02 on wards and he started that season with 645 goals.

Hull started with 649 and Robitaille with 590...he hit 600 during the season

This year's team is the only team that has ever had 2 players score goal #600 in the same season. This fact has been tossed out by a few broadcasters this year, so I can see why some people might think that this is the only team to have 2 600 goal scorers.

Back in 93-94, the Rangers had Messier and Gartner when they were around 520 and 580 respectively. And then in 96-97, the Rangers had Messier and Gretzky when Mess was just closing in on 600 and Gretz already had like 700.

I do not think so. He had only had about 6-7 years of big production by then. He was still scoring 35-40 into the oughts.

Dude are you serious? Gretzky got 802 in 94. He was still a King when he had 800 man.

Question was about Hull.

Having checked, he had 442 goals before 1995-96 season so he was not 600-goal-scorer back then.

I thought about that too, but Hull hit 600 with Dallas.

I thought that Mess didn't get his 500th goal until 95-96, on a beautiful wrist shot from the right circle off the rush against Kidd of Calgary in MSG. I saw the game, but I don't remember the date (it was early in the season). And I believe he scored his 600th when he was in Vancouver.

You're right. I think Brode is taking 109 playoff goals into account.

He scored #600 on Oct. 23, 1998, with the Canucks.
