Why did they leave Beede in when he was obviously done after the 5th? Why is Corbin scared to go to the bullpen in the last 2 games?

Why is he scared to, you know, have his players HIT? For, like, extra BASES?

First one of my teams in a major sport to win it all since the 1986 Mets. Watching like a true abused fan, even with 2 outs in the 9th I'm thinking "if this guy gets on, Papi gonna hit a two-run walk off and break my heart like Erat during the Storm.

Its Good to be Gold!!!!!!!!

I was scared too but really would have liked it to have been Papi striking out!!!! Fitting he had a front row seat when Campbell joined the dog pile!!

I suspect if Vandys teams played D-III they would win a lot more than three titles...

What an idiot... this and the incident before where the French guy kicked someone in the chest makes me wonder, are some of these soccer players just so revered that they think they can do anything? Or are they just nuts?

It was Mark van Bommel, a Dutchman, who kicked Xabi Alonso in the chest in 2010. Zinedine Zidan, a Frenchman, headbutted Marco Materazzi behind the play in 2006, although he was supposedly provoked by racist remarks from Materazzi (still doesn't make his reaction appropriate, but does make it more understandable).

As for why these things happen, some guys do stuff like that on purpose and try to make it look accidental (van Bommel was famous for that); other guys just lose their cool and make a bad decision in the heat of the moment (Zidane, Brian Mullan's tackle that broke Steve Zakuani's leg a few years back in MLS), but for Suarez, I think it's deeper than that. This is the third time he has bitten an opponent. The guy needs counseling.

It's a shame he pulls all this crap, too, because he's a phenomenal talent.

Materazzi later on that summer admitted to saying ... "I prefer the ***** that is your sister", nothing racist at all, I'm sure worse has been said on the pitch.
