Horny's and Neal's salaries are within ballpark of each other - so if the money is there, Poile could still be going after some FAs here in a couple of days.

A lot will hinge upon Wilson not crapping the bed this season or else us getting a real top 6 center to play with Neal.

I also don't relish having to root for a guy that has thrown the kind of cheapshots he has over the past few seasons, let alone giving up one of our best character guys in return.
Thing is with this team the problem hasn't really been creating chances, its not having someone that can finish them.

I'm not really sure I like this trade. We traded one of our few top 6 forwards and depth for another top 6 forward. Remember Hornqvist scored 30 in trotz system and Neal has only gone over 30 once and that is playing along side the best player in the world. The last two seasons he played more with Malkin and couldn't top 30. The only reason you make this trade is if there is more in the works because we didn't get any better imo. Hopefully I proven wrong but losing a heart and soal player like Horny stings.

Weird Pittsburgh will be the one taking the salary.

Neal: 5 Million
Hornqvist: 4.25 Million
Spaling: 1.5 Million+

Neal becomes the highest paid Predator forward of all time (if you don't count Forsberg)

Neal is a gutless punk but he is ours now. What next we trade for Burrows

I'm on the side that hates this deal.

Not because of what we give up, but because of my feelings on Neal.

I think he's a dirty POS who has no room in this game. I hope that he can prove me wrong but at the moment I hate it.

We apparently hated being saints so much we have become the devil.

Emo Poile. Gosh I am so torn on this. Wish it was Lucic and not Neal I love Lucic who isn't as big of a thug.

Maybe Neal will clean up a bit, and score? A fan can dream can't he?

I'm not thrilled with it either, but he does bring more skill to the table than we have had over the last couple of years. Hopefully a new team where there is less pressure and a new division will help that out.

It's funny, back when Neal was traded from Dallas, we (myself included) were very critical of Poile for not getting in on that trade.

I know some are worried about Neal being away from Malkin and his "thug" issues, but Nashville needs to start taking some risks. Every move can't be a perfect match.

Now that we have a legit weapon at forward, maybe this could help the way free agents view us?

As others may have said, what this tells me as much as anything is that Horns wasn't gonna be a good fit in Lavys system

Well if the system is that counter attack approach a guy with stone hands probably isn't a good fit.

Everyone always says this but that isn't always the case. We upgraded and Neal has a wicked shot. He's going to blow pucks by goalies and he'll be a consistent 30 goal scorer IMO. Neal is going to get a ton of time on the PP he will get his goals. Fleeced might be the wrong word but we won this trade no doubt.

I think this is a good point. Telling Stastny/whoever to come play with Neal is easier than telling them to come play with anyone else on our roster.

Team that gets the better player usually does, I just don't think it's as severe as people are making it out to be. Not debating that Neal is the more talented player though.

Neal, Jarnkrok, Smith, Wilson, Weber, Josi, Jones, Ellis, Rinne, Lavy, going into free agency with momentum.......

We're back and I love it. Buckle up, it's gonna be exciting.

Neal only makes 2.2 million more than Hornqvist in actual dollars over the next 4 years. Money should definitely still be there for free agency/another trade. Neal needs a playmaking center...

**** it, why not. I'm in. Do I love it? No. Do I feel dirty? Yes, very. Did we get better as a team? Absolutely.

Now we need a center. Come on Poile get us a center. Package the 2nds Ellis and Wilson for a true center.

Then last season Neal smashed Del Zotto's head into the glass. In the real world, you'd think they don't like each other, but in hockey they're probably buddies...

Yeah no one got fleeced here. Pittsburgh traded some skill for some heart and soul. Hornqvist is still very productive despite his lack of talent.

So the RW depth chart is Neal, Smith, Fisher? ?

Bourque to RW for the 4th line?

After RFA's Preds should have 10.5 million...TO SIGN ONE FORWARD, ONE, JUST ONE.

Think this locks up Beck to 14th forward, Wilson is still a mystery, LW or C?

Edit: JAMes Neal
