GDT | Rangers @ Flyers | March 31st | 7:05

@

7:00pm EST
TV - FSNY
Radio - 1050AM

I decided to start the GDT early because im on a 5 game GDT winning streak ...we need these 2 points. We win this game then we are pretty much in the playoffs. C'on Rangers, Lundqvist...bounce back from Tuesdays game and come out with a great effort! Thankfully we have Isbister back in the lineup to lead the way.... Orts is day to day with a knee injury. Toots is expected back on Sunday vs the Leafs.

LETS GO RANGERS!

The stage is set for us to really put ourselves in a great position. We need to come out strong and play a smart game. If they want blood we need to be sure to make it all about business. Let them take stupid penalties and capitalize on the PP. Score early and often and kill their hope. They played tonight so we should be the fresher team after 3 days off. Just get it done and head home with 2 points. We are the better team and we need to prove it on the scoreboard tomorrow.

I would say that this is an "unofficial" must win. Technically it is not a must win...but I'll say it is unofficially because you can't afford losing streaks with 5 games remaining in a tight race, and because this is a team that we should beat if we want to make the playoffs. There is no excuse not to win this game.

about 6 points in our final 5 games. 93 points should be enough. 94 points, and a win over Toronto or Montreal just about guarantees it.

Alright I'm pumped for this one. Going down on NJ Transit to Philly for this one.

I hope the Flyers do what they did in february and take a bunch of stupid penalties...but this time MAKE THEM PAY. If the power play comes through and we play like we did last week at MSG against them, we win. Plain and simple.

Its not really a must win, since if we loose, we wouldn't be in a worse situation then 4 of the 5 teams we are competing with.

It will be a tough game, Gagne brings a bit of edge to Philly.

The big diffrence is that this is a team we can beat while not playing perfectly with just a bit of luck. But if Philly have a good night, and we don't play well, the odds are against us.

I look at it as a great opertunity to pull away, I don't really like talking about "must wins". Allot of things is a must, like everyone dooing what they possibly can to win this game, but the results in sports are always uncertain.

NY Daily News says Isbister skated with Jagr and Nylander while Straka was centering Cally and Avery. I guess that leaves Shanny, Prucha, Orts and Cullen as a 3rd line ( I am assuming the 4th line is intact vs Philly). Who sits??? Prucha?

Hossa just skated for the first time yesterday with no equipment on. He's not going to be in the lineup. Tyutin joined the team today but most likely won't play until tomorrow.

Saw the same thing in the N.Y. papers. Hope Toots is able to go tomorrow. I wonder who sits tonight or tomorrow from the forwards. I hope it is not Prucha!

Should be Isbister from the forwards and Strudwick on defense.

Actually, http://www.hockeyrodent.com did all the numbers work, and all the Rangers need is 2 wins in their last 5 games to give themselves an 88% chance of a playoff berth. 2 wins plus an OTL basically locks it up.

This is the easiest of the last five games to win. The rest are against playoff hungry teams, unless Pitt locks up the division before the last day of the season (which is unlikely). A win would go a huge way towards getting the berth, needing only a win in the last four games to get in, and taking away the bad feelings from Tuesday's loss.

Update for you guys on the Flyers front-Richards is likely out, he says his shoulder is sore and he can't shoot, Gauthier is out and Upshall is questionable. Riley Cote is in, as is (ugh) Mike York. The game should be very near capacity, I tried this morning and there were no tickets available through the Flyers and only 18 left on Stubhub. Hopin' for a good one.

The other teams behind us have been cooperating recently by losing...the Rangers need to take advantage and win games such as this one right here: a game that they definitely should win. Let's go Rangers!
