Pics of austrian prospects Nödl and Rotter

I shot some pics of the youngest members auf Austria's U20 WJC team, Andreas Nödl and Raffael Rotter at last nights game. Another interesting player is Mario Altmann, defenseman #4.

(The pics also feature Reinhard Divis brother Roland who is the Captain of their team)

It's interesting how austria can produce so many interesting players (Brandner, Setzinger, Nödl, Rotter, Divis, Divis etc.) considering how few rinks they have and how low the interest in hockey is there.

With Brandner and Divis more or less playing in the NHL Hockey in Austria has entered somewhat of a boom. Attendence is going up, the national Team has had some success.

Most notable over the last few years is the good work in the development system of young players. Some youngsters already play in Germany, Switzerland or even Finland and the competition in the austrian leagues has become better.

A good start but still a long way to go.

Austria has always looked damn good in international competition although not winning many games. Team Finland especially has to work their ***** off to win against Austria...
