It's a shame Garrison wouldn't waive to come here. I think he'd have been a nice partner for Shatty. And it would have been nice to bump Jackman down. Having said that, getting an offensive upgrade is obviously priority number one. I wouldn't want Garrison at the expense of Stastny/Spezza.
He only cost a 2nd rounder It would not have impacted a center. Would have just hurt our depth by losing a pick.
Sharp gone this season and Hossa gone next. If we don't end up with a top center I'm going to be seriously pissed off.
By 2016, Hossa will have been paid over $55m of his $63m contract and have 5 years remaining. If Chicago trade him in a year, he could play 1 year at his new team and then "retire" to the KHL. Chicago would then be on the hook for a $3m cap recapture penalty for the next 5 seasons.
