Nick Ritchie vs William Nylander

Who would you rather have? Nick Ritchie or William Nylander?

Was hoping for Ritchie before the draft personally as a Leafs fan. Just curious to know who others would rather have?

Nylander may be the more talented guy, but Ritchie has enough talent and more physical tools to probably be a more effective NHLer.

This is like comparing Patrick Kane to Milan Lucic, completely different players

Easily Nylander.

Kid is prolly the most naturally talented player in this draft.

Nylander, I say with no Leaf bias. Was hoping to Jebus he was available at 8, screamed and howled when we picked him.

Give me Ritchie. His tool set is probably the best out of any forward in the draft.

Big, bulky, good skater for his size, amazing shot, soft hands. He lit up the OHL as soon as he had a capable center passing him the puck. Reminds me a lot of Bobby Ryan. Guy has huge potential going forward, and I can't think of a better team to develop him than Anaheim.

Heard the same things about Filatov in the 2008 draft. Skill isn't everything.

Not comparable at all.

I liked Nylander more but it sucks that he's gonna be ridiculously over hyped now.

Nylander was the consensus. Ho-Sang is up there but has no idea how to use his talent or take full advantage of it. He doesn't really have a great mind for the game.

Can't wait for the future B level prospect > Nylander thread/polls when Nylander doesn't make the NHL next year like Kadri.

I didn't like Ritchie's inconsistency, or under the radar team troubles, he had with the Petes.

Nylander very easily.

I like Ritchie - but don't rate him nearly as highly as others do.

He really isn't (the best player). His character issues are way overblown - and probably caused him to be drafted later than his skill should have dictated. With that said, I also think that for some there is a swing too far the other way with him - assuming that taking away the 'character complaints' he's a better player than he actually is. And i'm saying this as someone who watched him for along time and really likes him.

Accept that far more players would value having Patrick Kane than Milan Lucic.

Was hoping Ritchie and Virtanen would get picked ahead of the #8 selection, so Nylander and Ehlers would fall to the Leafs pick.

I had the same line of thinking as the Leafs brass. I was praying Nylander or Ehlers fell to us.

Not really, they couldn't be different styled players.
