It seems crazy that such an electric player has one page in this thread for the entire season. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he lasts until the early 20's, because he's Russian and of average stature. I think Scherbak is the one who ends up going a lot earlier. Goldobin will probably be a steal where he ends up. His offensive talent is up there with anyone in the class.

I'd like to see the Sabres make a move up to get Goldobin if he lasts until the 20's. I'd like to see them take one of these riskier offense-first guys in this draft, though I have no idea what Murray's approach will be.

The 6-foot, 175-pound dynamo ripped up the OHL in his second campaign this year with 38 goals and 95 points in 67 games. He possesses a loaded stick, ready to fire at all times, and is geared with elite vision that allow him to execute incredible plays.
We touch a bit more on Goldobin in our Countdown here: http://futureconsiderations.ca/fcs-d...untdown-25-21/

FYI it was not Goldobin's rookie campaign. He scored 30 goals for Sarnia last year.

Sharks go with him. Unusual pick for us. We don't draft Russians usually.

Watch his draft interview. It's got Hertl levels of adorbleness.

The term "steal" is used way too often. Remember when Schroeder was a steal?

Yes, except this guy is much more talented than Schroeder ever was. And was picked later than Schroeder

That is probably my second favorite Draft interview this year other than Scherbak

Schroeder wasn't talented? Guy Is considered to be one of the best of all time at the WJC. He definitely had talent.

Schroeder is also a midget. If you guys wanna complain about labeling people as steals, use someone else as an example.

Now where did I say that he wasn't talented? I said Goldobin has more skill than Schroeder did

Great pick by San Jose. Was hoping he would last until 31.

Not much talk on here about Goldobin. Ive been reading he is one of the more talented players in the draft and could turn into one of the best to come out of this draft. Cant wait to see him, Zacha and Deangelo put on a show in Sarnia this year

Will Goldobin stay with Sarnia if he doesn't stick with San Jose? They have Kodola and Zacha as imports. Obviously they'll keep Zacha but is it worth keeping Goldobin for one season than Kodola who'll be around longer?

Apparently was real impressive in last nights preseason game vs. Canucks. Finished with a goal and assist. I read he found instant chemistry mid game on a line with Hertl and Thornton. Did anyone see the game?

I was at the game. He looked good offensively but I think he needs another year in junior. The AHL would actually be perfect for him. He needs to put on strength and play against men. He will likely get his 9 games this year before going back to Sarnia.

No highlights anywhere. Apparently the other game was more interesting because it featured a bigger gimmick - subban so it got televised somehow instead

#82 in these two clips and looked to be playing with Goodrow and Tierney from these highlights:

Here's his next-day interview, where he mentions getting bumped up to play with Thornton and Hertl:
