7th Round Kings Pick #210 (and last pick of the 2014 draft) D Jacob Middleton

The dubious distinction of being the last selection of the 2014 draft goes to
Ottawa Defenseman Jacob Middleton. 6'3" 208 lbs. left shot.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/draftprospect...htm?dpid=84559

suspect TG will know something about him, being that he's an Ottawa 67

I am very happy the Kings got him.

To me, his hands just don't keep up with his head. He thinks the right play, the smart play, but he doesn't execute it.

Drafted 2 Ottawa 67's defensemen in Lintuniemi and Middleton...obviously new King scout Chris Byrne knows a lot about them, having been with the 67's.

Look forward to TG's takes on the picks.

Another Chris Byrne pick. Like I said in the draft thread, it's amazing that Lombardi has confidence in Byrne already. Two 67s, I'm assuming Futa liked them too but Byrne was probably pushing for both these kids. I'll have to keep an eye out on these kids next year! Go 67s.

great interview at the bottom of this link.

http://lakingsinsider.com/2014/06/28...cob-middleton/

"no offense in my zone" is my mantra. kid works hard. Futa said he was the best defenseman on the ice in the prospects game as well.

I had Middleton as the 23rd ranked OHL player this year.

"He's already a very strong player along the wall and does a great job of pinning and winning battles."

Sounds like a Kings player!

kings are going to maybe get two good defensive players from the last pick of the draft. Could be a good story in quite a few years time
