Quick to Manchester

No surprise, but Rich Hammond reports that John Quick will soon be reporting to Manchester, according to Ron Hextall. Link:

Not sure if he'll get any playing time behind Labarbera.

"He will act as our third goalie."

I guess they're just getting a jump on showing him the ropes in the A....maybe he'll get one start, but I imagine he'll just be practicing with the team, getting to know the players, the personnel, the system and the environment.

It's my understanding that Quick is not expected to be in Manchester in time to play in tomorrow's or Friday's Monarchs' games. Also, he's a little "banged up" from his college season...

I wouldn't mind him sitting on the bench instead of Brust for a game or two. Give him a chance to feel the flow of an AHL game...

I'm bummed though that they wouldn't let him play a game up here just for giggles with nothing to lose... (and it wouldn't be a confidence shatterer... he'd just know what he would be looking at in camp next year.)
