In a recent interview Chicago prospect Maxim Shalunov mentioned that he is happy that he got a year of NA hockey experience, but now he will return to Russia and will try to get his KHL career going. Still he doesn't rule out a return to NA at some point.

I never heard much about his play in Rockford, and I'm seeing now that he spent more time in Toledo, so I'm assuming he wasn't exactly the cream of the crop in Rockford. He was very quietly brought over, and very quietly buried in the minors.

But even if he never becomes anything in North America, he was well worth the 4th round pick to try him out. Seems to have all the tools, but it sounded like he was having problems putting it all together even when he was playing in Russia.

Still, thanks for giving it the ol' college try, Max. Wish him the best.

Saw this retweeted by Jay Zawaski :Blackhawks did not tender qualifying offers to Terry Broadhurst, Theo Peckham, Byron Froese, David Gilbert, Philippe Lefebrve. All UFAs.

Not surprising. Next year will be interesting though - Danault, Clendening, Nordstrom, Dahlbeck. Other prospects Svedberg, LeBlanc, Simpson, Carruth.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Chicago sign T. Broadhurst to an AHL deal despite not qualifying him.

It makes sense, and it's what they've done previously. No reason to tender the guy when you can sign him to an AHL deal cheaper than the tender would be.

I know, I know it's been said before but the IceHogs should be really really good next year.

Teravainen
2 of Johns/Dahlbeck/Clendening
Hartman
Nordstrom
McNeill
Danault
Ross

The Icehogs just need to make the playoffs. There's no excuse for them to not.

Yea, Teravainen should be the best forward prospect in the AHL by far. Plus those D. Plus 3 other 1st round picks. There really is no excuse.

One heck of a log jam at center for the Rockford Icehogs next season:

Teravainen
Rasmussen
Danault
Broadhurst
Nordstrom
Leblanc

Nordstrom will play wing and I could see LeBlanc getting claimed off waivers - though, I'm sure many would scoff at that.

I see Rockford's lineup shaking out like:

Nordstrom - Teravainen - McNeill
Ross - Danault - Hartman
Carey - Rasmussen - Broadhurst
Labrie - LeBlanc/AHL vet - Bass

Svedberg - Clendening
Cumiskey - Johns
Fournier/Brisebois - Van Riemsdyk

Simpson/Darling

That's a damn solid team. Could you imagine a Ross, Danault, Hartman combo? Rockford's very own, "GrindLine".

Chris Block has repeatedly said that Danault and Hartman have a crazy connection. I believe that Danault was terrible and Hartman came in post OHL-season and they were both close to PPG. Could bode well for the future.

Prospect Camp roster released. Couple interesting names on there in Nolan Stevens (not yet draft eligible) and Ryan Hitchcock, who was passed over in his first draft a couple of weeks ago. Interested to see how he fares at camp, I like him and where his game was at by season's end.

No Tyler Motte, wonder if it's a misprint or previous commitment/injury

Oliver Mebus could be fun (6-9 240) pair him with Svedberg down in Rockford twin tower it up.

Click on Dahlstroms link and Dahlbecks profile comes up. Someone screwed up. Well they are both from Sweden and last names start with a D. ESPN has a job is waiting for you. Lmao.

Pretty big difference between both last names starting with D and both names starting with the same first four letters.

Honestly for whatever reason I always mix up both of them and Svedberg too.

Blackhawks OHL representation has been sparse as of late. Thanks for your update though. Always look forward to your evaluations and comments.

Our Hoosier fans have a new jersey set to buy if they're interested:

Unfortunately, kinda average at best and I'm left scratching my head at the thought process that got put into the collar design.
