I liked McGinn's play. We'll see if he can crack the Shark's lineup.

Actually amazing value if just compared to what picks have fetched for other players of the same or greater skill.

He's a weird mish-mash of a player. Not really skilled enough for point production and thus heavy minutes but not good enough of a shutdown guy or pest or even fighter to hold down a lower role. Good call-up fodder though. Not unfeasible that he could land a fourth to third line spot if the stars aligned for him though.

He also has a knack for scoring goals as soon as he's called up for a game or two.

He looked really good when he was first called up, but then nearly lost an eye and became scared, soft and useless. He later rebounded enough to look OK, and is showing signs of improvement. Wouldn't have minded keeping him, but the 3rd is good value.

Good luck to him! Him becoming a solid 3rd liner is fairly likely if he plays to his full potential.

McGinn is useless. I'll take the pick

He is a poor man's Kyle Cliffod. May be not as strong skater but has an uncanny knack to finish. He isn't soft since having his orbital bone fractured. Like most young players he had some success scoring and forgot what gave him some success.

Tye has shown flashes of being able to play at the NHL level, but hasn't been able to solidify a spot in the lineup. He's not good enough defensively or fast enough to be very effective in a bottom six role, but he hasn't produced enough offense to make a case for a top-six spot. Good, physical, hard-working player, though. Decent fighter too.

I was and still am very happy with the return here relative to the flyers but I really think McGinn could be a good player for the sharks. Seems to fit their team pretty well. If he's given a shot he will be a regular. If he can work on his speed and acceleration he will be a threat to score.

I have always liked McGinn and I think he can succeed in SJS. Good deal for Philly too.

Don't think he has the skillset to make it in the big leagues. He'll always be an AHL injury call-up.
