There's a depth move.

Definitely seems to signal an impending trade. Rockford and Chicago are both glutted with Dmen.

IMO, Leddy will be gone. He'll fetch the most and the inability to really jump up and force Chicago's hand with regards to playing time and responsibility will be why he's gone.

$600K for a depth defenseman. Not bad at all.

I'll be calling him "Cellolar" if he makes it up here.

If Leddy's gone, it will be interesting to see what we get for him. Such diverse opinions of the guy...

Cumiskey signs for $600,000 for one year with Hawks. Two-way deal, but a healthy salary ($400K) if he plays in minors.
That guy writes for NBC.

Like I said in the other thread, this is a depth move. I don't see anything from this guy that tells me he's a roster player come October. The 2-way deal with $400K AHL money all but confirms this.

This is depth/AHL most likely but Cumiskey is a really amazing skater makes decent passes but gets overpowered a lot. He has put up 60 pts in 91 games in Sweden the past 2 seasons however.

Good depth PMD, more like the new Jordan Hendry.

He was coached by Coach Q in Colorado, so there is some familiarity there. Could definitely be a Blackhawk if they make some changes on D.

Jordan Hendry didn't put up points at any level. Cumiskey is better than him, but he's obviously got his own flaws.

He definitely fits the mold of the type of defender Stan likes. Let's see how Q likes him.

He didn't play full seasons under Q in COL, so unless he has improved a bit, it's doubtful he does this year.

A year ago I would have stood and pounded my fist on the table against moving him.

I'm much, much more at ease with it now. With where the team is now with regard to the cap, current roster, players in the system, who could fetch the most in a move, etc....he certainly fits the bill as someone attractive to move.

I'm still a fan and stick with a lot of what I've thought of him all along, but I don't think that's going to happen here on this roster with this coaching staff. He hasn't done enough in crunch time to force their hand, as stated. He's becoming less a fit here as time goes on with the lack of push to be a top-4 on this team.

To me, you keep Leddy while he is still cheap this year and deal him next offseason. His value will not be any worse and it could be better. Let his new team worry about his contract.

Pretty much where I'm at. Think he's going to be a very good defenseman; don't think it'll be here.

Not a bad thought but it depends what they're able or not able to move as far as other players on the roster go.

2.7 for your #5 or 6 D isn't really cheap.

And about 5 million for your third pair has to be one of the leagues most expensive third pairings, would think salary has to be shed from that pair, with an ELC or cheap Brookbank deal filling in.

I'm sure Cumiskey does things well and has obvious flaws. He'll look good some games playing limited minutes and extremely overmatched in others. It's the life of the extra defenseman.
