Tyutin to dress tonight!

Looks like some good news!

From the NY Daily News:

The Rangers will do so with winger Petr Prucha back in the lineup after an eyebrow-raising lineup choice by Renney on Tuesday night, dressing tough-guy forward Colton Orr. They'll also have defenseman Fedor Tyutin finally back after missing 16 games with a sprained knee.

I love how Dellapina basically calls Renney a jackass

OH yeah... hip check time.

Thank god. Tyutin at 80% is better than Strudwick at 120%.

Gotta thank Struds though for coming back and filling in. He did what was expected of him, wasn't stellar but didnt totally break down the house. Good for him.

Can't wait to see Toots and Proochs.

Watch as Renney scratches Pock instead of Strudwick

Goot to see Tyutin back. However, Girardi or Pock can just as easily be scratched as Strudwick.

I don't know. I really do not think Renney will scratch Girardi, but you never know with Renney.

Strudwick can't play in the playoffs, he's the obvious decision as everyone else will need to be in top game shape come next week.

Even Renney (who I'm still a fan of despite his many questionable lineup decisions this year) wouldn't scratch Pock or Girardi right now. Pock has been hot offensively lately, and even looks good in his own end the last few games. And Girardi has been one of our best dman since he was called up.

It's gotta be Strudwick. He did his job, he did what was expected of him, and now he can continue to do so by giving us some insurance on the roster.

Since January 17th Girardi has amassed a whopping 6 penalty minutes.

My guess is Girardi won't be the one scratched.

Great news! hope Toots is in good shape and can throw one or two hip checks

Any word on when Hossa is expected to be back? some tough choices with these two back in the fold

I heard Sam on the MSG telecast say that Hossa was still a week away or so.

I hope...

Tyutin isn't too rusty and comes out like he did in the first half of the season.

Agreed... But i don't expect his rust to be as bad as someone like Shanahan who really had to put hockey at the back of his mind while Tyutin can mentally keep with everything.

Yeah, but they also need him to get into the swing of things if he's going to be useful for the playoffs...

tough coming back in right at the end of the season, while your team is trying to clinch, and have to take off running. Hopefully Renney doesn't put too much on his shoulders and uses him more as the 3rd pairing guy.

I agree, Levitate...

just shows how important the game against the Isles was. Would be nice to just rest guys like Jagr and Shanny, and even sit out Lundqvist a game, and get a guy like Tyutin in shape and ready themselves for the playoffs. Now they may actually have to win.

They need to win. Hoping to win against Pittsburgh is much more risky than against Montreal. Of course having the Islanders beat the Leafs for us would be nice

Maybe Renney rests a regualr defenseman instead? Strudwick is only eligible to play for 2 more games, then it's press box for him anyway.

No doubt that we've missed Toots, and he is a big upgrade on Strudwick, but I'm also glad that it seems they took their time bringing him back to make sure he is 100% healthy. I'd rather he miss the rest of the year than perhaps jepardize the rest of his career with recurring knee injuries. I'm not an expert, but I'd guess that an extra week helps a lot to prevent that from happening.

I hope he is 100% and injury free for the playoffs!!

NYOrts...

realize that the pace of tonight's game will be very fast, as Montreal's needs a win big time here to help their playoff chances. In any event, rust will have to wear-off quickly, but interestingly enough the Ranger have done well with Strudwick playing only 10-12 minutes on a few nights. If Toots is taking over for Strudwick, he doesn't have to play 18 minutes tonight and Renney could lean a bit heavier on Rozsival, Mara and Malik if Toots is a bit rusty.
