Patrik Berglund to Nashville

Upon seeing the Steve Ott signing in STL, it looks as though they'll be forced to move a player out. I've seen lots of chatter that it would be Patrik Berglund heading in another direction. Nashville is looking for their #1 center, and Berglund would possibly thrive given more ice time in a smaller market team.

Berglund to Nashville

for

???

I have a feeling this is why Ott was re-signed.

Also hearing Vladimir Sobotka has signed with Omsk of the KHL.

Berglund isn't much of a center anymore. Plays better on the wing. People thinking he is going to turn into this breakout, playmaking 2C just because he gets a bigger target on his back after he potentially gets shipped out are somewhat misguided. I like the player, but some people seem to think he is something that he isn't.

Why would he do that?

Yeah, you can go ahead and close this thread. Ott is just replacing Sobotka (poorly).

We likely aren't moving him now. We need him if the reports about Sobotka bolting are true. Ott essentially just took Sobotka's place money wise. Certainly don't want to help Nashville out either.

Berglund will never be a 1C.

How would that help us out?

Cullen, Wilson, Jokinen, Jarnkrok, Gaustad, which of these centers does Berglund help us out by replacing? He's what we already have, in numbers I might add. We need a true offensive center, not more tweeners.
