Marleau and Thornton control where they go. This is madness.

Ektard used to have a half hour show on CSN Philly where he brought us "inside info" in interviews with Flyers players, coaches, and management (yes, he even had our team president and GM on his show) so he DEFINITELY has inside sources in Philly. He's still an idiot IMO and makes most of his stuff up just to make money on his site but even I have to give him some credit regarding his sources in Philly. They reach about as high in the organization as anyone can get.

15 years ago, Eklund used to be a regular poster, no different than anyone here. At that time he claimed to work in the Flyers organization and was passing info along that he had heard in the office. Back then, he stuck exclusively to Flyers stuff. Other posters that worked in the organization would then proceed to **** all over him and call him a go-fer. I know all of this because I used to post on the same message boards he used to back then.

He undoubtedly has cultivated real connections within the Philly hockey world and maybe in the hockey world at large. What kills me is that it is all based on a lie. During the 04-05 lockout Eklund suddenly sprang into the conscienceness of the general hockey fanbase, not just Philly fans, as he blogged about what was happening with the lockout, offering a play-by-play of sorts. He would post verbatim conversations he was having with players/agents/GM's and such and a fanbase desperate for hockey lapped up every word he wrote. There was only one problem: He made it all up. It was obvious to anyone who was willing to see it. For starters, people don't talk the way he had them talking in the conversations he was putting on his blog. Secondly, why the **** should anyone be calling Eklund about delicate CBA negotiations? Finally - and most tellingly - he was ****ing wrong all of the time. He called the end of the lockout about 3 million times before it actually happened.

So he was lying, but was able to turn the attention he got from his fraudulent blog into something quasi-legitimate. He still makes up 99% of what he writes, but now has enough connections to make him 'legitimate'. The keyboardist in Grey Eye Glances has been rewarded - and handsomely - for being a fraud.

The premise of this point with regard to a Lecavalier trade is that it's 'holding everything up.' Unless 'everything' involves the Flyers, it's pretty obvious that he is lying about a contract nobody wants opening the floodgates to more trades. In the vast majority of cases, teams call it a day by July 5 or 6, aside from a few minor signings, or a trade here or there.

Eklund is in this picture. Guess which one is him...

Does he for one second look like a guy NHL execs and player agents are feeding inside information to?

Also, he is the one all the way on the left for people who don't know.

It is a promotional photo from his band, Grey Eye Glances, who've been playing living rooms & bookstores since the 90's. He is the keyboardist and one of the band's founding members.

And yes, he's the ********* on the left.

This is amazing. Had no clue this existed. He actually has shown his face more now though, especially since he has a podcast about rumors. Josh Rimer is usually there with him but I have come to learn his rumors are usually BS now as well.

Kevin Allen is probably the only respectable one that comes on that podcast.

PHI need to trade him because of the cap situation, buy him out doesn't create enough space... Lecavalier as a no trade clause and a toxic contract...
Vinny is holding up is own trade... When he signed long term deal in PHI was wasn't to go play a any other team after 1 year. unfortunately is contract isn't managable for team that he would be willing to join (or most team)...

They don't need to trade him to be cap compliant.

Gee, this Lecavalier deal must really be holding up some incredible trading action.

One of the many gems given out by Holmgren.

Guts his team of their superstars (who go on to win stanley cups and a vezina trophy) and replaces them with washed up overpaid slugs.

The Streit and MacDonald contracts should look abysmal within 2 years.

Flyers have definitely earned their cap troubles.

MacDonald is old and washed-up at the age of 27?

I can't help but shake my head at Islander fans who parade into threads like these and blast the Flyers for signing Streit. His replacement, Matt Donovan, couldn't even hang at the NHL level last year, while Streit went on to finish 16th in scoring among defensemen.

Carter and Richards were replaced by Voracek, Simmonds, Brayden Schenn and Couturier. None of them are washed up, overpaid or slugs.

But unlike the Flyers I guess the Islanders plan is working perfectly. Their plan was to not win a playoff series in the last 21 years, right?

And he was 10th in ES scoring. If he had gotten top PP unit time he'd have scored 50 points.
