When I say Artie was more consistent, I'm talking about consistency based on strength of the opponent, not game to game.

Regardless, Artie has a slightly higher goals per game average than Nash against playoff teams. If I had done goals per 60 minutes, the disparity would be even greater since Nash gets more ice time per game.

Nash can score 30 goals a year, but it doesn't matter if he doesn't score them when the games matter most.
No - what the data shows is that Nash has more goals and Anisimov plays up and down to his competition. That's all.

His nickname is definitely Dick Rash or Sick Rash, you choose.

Any trade rumors whatsoever out there yet about this 7.8 million dollar loser? Only just over 30% of people want him back here at least. It's seemed pretty quiet, but he still blows and is killing our ability to get better with that disgusting unearned cap hit.

It's really too bad we were only given two compliance buyouts.

The Rangers scored 2.6 goal a game last year. Will they score many more/less in the 2014-2015 season? With the player losses/additions to date I believe the team is geared to take a step back.

If Nash is gone does this team have much more than maybe 1 1/2 -2 million more in additional cap space after replacing him? Is that the difference maker for this team?

Nash scores 33% of his goals on the PP. If he doesn't play on the special teams then we can say he is good for the 25-30 goal year at best.

Nash's cap hit is hurting us, so Sather should make the trade already since Nash has all this trade value.

I think more appropriately stated is that a guy who can score 25 goals in a season and create some space for his linemates simply because of his name is more valuable than the guy you might get in his place, without a trade, and including the dead cap space created when he's bought-out.

Since he waived to come to NYR, does that mean that his NTC is waived or does it go back into effect?

Invest it in a Staal extension that will cost 6m AAV.

Although its so late in the UFA season that most good options are off the table, you could still sign a guy like Alfredsson to a 1 year deal and play him on the 3rd line RW with Miller and another kid. Or take advantage of one of the teams who will be starting training camp and need to shed salary.

Given the current landscape of who would be available with any cap space saved, only an idiot would want to see Nash gone right now.

An even bigger idiot would advocate a buy-out (if available) with no return.

So get rid of Nash so they can spend the money on a guy they already have under contract? How exactly does that help this season?

So your problem isn't with cap space, it's with Sather.

Trading Nash, to get cap space, just to have cap space, is stupid.

Would love to have cap space..buyout Nash - how much cap space do you save? I haven't done the calculation, and how long is there dead cap space? Then, who can you get, without trading a body or draft pick, for that money saved?

What was the reason AV did not play Nash on the power play in the SCF?

Not really any room to put him on. The 1st unit was MSL Kreider stepan and Richards with McD
And the 2nd unit was our poobrasszucc line

you make it a big "if" since it's in caps. I'm not a Nash basher, not a huge fan either and I'd love for him to do very well because he will be even more important to this season than last season, but it doesn't do the team very well if he scores 16 goals and plays in only 30 games, for instance. Great GPG rate, but he needs to be healthy, and effective, for most of the season.
