Get a proven top-6 forward to either center the 2nd line, or to play on Kopitar's wing. Add in a veteran defenseman, and we're in pretty good shape for next season (goaltending aside).

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having too much goaltending depth. If all 3 (Bernier, Quick, & Zatkoff) pan out to be solid starting NHL goalie's, then you have 2 assets you can trade for very good returns.
I still say DL goes out and gets Toivonen in the off-season.

Of next year's class, let's just not sign any forwards this year. Then, Hossa plz
Hossa has become too integral to the present and future success of Atlanta. I doubt they're going to let him walk. Of the forwards on Primakov's list, the only player I would realistically want the Kings to take a shot at is the odd man out in San Jose. Maybe Rolston would be worth a look, but, if they were interested in signing Rolston next offseason, I'd just as soon they sign Drury this offseason. Sundin and Naslund are pretty much done.

EDIT: Scratch Boyle from my list...I had a momentary metal lapse.

It looks like Labarbera's going to get a shot as the Kings back-up. That means that, if DL acquires Toivonen, either he's going to be slotted into Labarbera's old role in Manchester, with Quick backing up (this, of course, assumes that Brust will not be retained) or he'll be on the NHL roster as the third goalie behind Cloutier and Labarbera (assuming that Brust is retained for Manchester). The former arrangement might be preferable to a goalie at HT's stage of development; the latter might be disastrous.

I wasn't getting on your case. I just thought that you'd be interested in the discussion that we had on the topic already, as well as the link to actual article.

That is an awesome article!!!

Couple things I particularly liked...

89% Players would like to see more interconference play! This is huge for me, I think it is unfair that we play San Jose, Anaheim and Dallas like 7 or 8 times a season...we definetely have one of the hardest divisions in the league and it would be nice to see some other teams...the only reason this won't happen though is travel time/costs

Avery is the most hated- hahahah I can believe that!

Avery is also the most overated...I think that's a bunch of bull...Avery rips! Miss that guy!

Anaheim has the worst ice! Completely agree...skated there once and it was horrible!

Why can't the league conduct research survey's like this so they can tailor the league in a way that suits the majority interest!!??!! (Mainly Players and Fans!)
