Guy Carbonneau vs. Claude Provost

Both were more known for their defensive prowess than their offence. There's been arguments that both should be in the HOF.

Who's greater?

Provost's numbers sure look more impressive, relative to the era. He might have snatched a few Selkes too if the award existed at the time.

I know what Bobby Hull's answer would be.

Carbonneau. More responsibility as a center, and one of the best ever in the dot, and I think he was more important than Provost relative to the respective Habs teams they were on.

I prefer Provost but wouldn't be upset to see either in the HOF. It should be noted, though, that I'd put all Habs from the sixties and seventies in the Hall.

I remember when I had Claude Provost on my ATD team and got killed by Eaglebelfour who previously owned him.I'm not sure what he said, but I think it had to do with how little his defensive value overlapped with his offensive value (or something like that).I'm rusty so I forgot all the details now.

I would choose Carbonneau, great defensive center, good captain, great winner.Carbonneau was spectacular in his defensive abilities.
