This feels dirty, but I actually rooted for you guys to get in. A playoffs without the Avs just isn't the same..

Calgary losing made it even worse.

Awesome stretch though!

I have to admit, the Avs losing to the Preds was music to my ears.

I am way more afraid to face the Avs in the playoffs than the Flames.

Good luck next year!

Although I am not a true fan of the Avs, it was disheartening to see them lose out after one of the greatest playoff pushes I have ever witnessed. Huge amount of heart and team effort when nearly all had counted them out.

I will certainly be keeping an eye on this incredible team in the coming season.

It makes you feel proud to be an Avs fans when fans of OTHER teams all come over and say how incredible the Avs run was and how much heart they showed and that they'll be better next year.

I was cheering you guys tho' - the Avs would give the Wings a real threat.
Not to nitpick, but I was at the game and it was definitely 2-0 when they announced it over the scoreboard.

Amazing job Avs, made the last few weeks pretty tense over here!

Exactly. Actually, did anyone else notice that Pepsi Center seemed louder than it has in quite some time? Hopefully the croud gives the the boys a well-deserved round of applause tonight!

It was a great crowd last night. With it being Easter and the weather not great tonight, I fear it'll be a poor crowd. I'm unable to attend with Easter dinner, but will tape the game. And the end of the game last night, the fans gave the Avs a thunderous applause. Tonight will be an exhibition game, not much emotion. I certainly hope the boys put up a great effort tonight, but last night was the end of the season. The game against Calgary tonight is more like the NFL Probowl

Last night was one of those special times at the Pepsi Center. The crowd really was great and loud and enthusiastic throughout the whole game. Until that last empty netter went in, with seconds to go, the fans felt that we would and could win.

The ovation for Peter and the applause for the great run by our team helped restore for me the positive feelings for the Avalanche fanbase. At times over the last few years I have struggled with bandwagon quality of some Avs fans but overall I think we are a pretty loyal and hopeful bunch.

Here's to next season!

Here's hoping to see that last month's passion gets prolonged for the whole next season and the play-offs. Go Avs!

Congrats to the boys. Too little, too late and games that came back to haunt us. But in the end, they didnt give up. Shows great character and leadership, both on and off the ice.

And classy posts by other teams fans!! Nice to see we arent the only ones that recognize the Avalanche's great effort!

It was a great run and it's sad that we didn't get into the playoffs but this is a far cry from the "no way in hell do the Avs make the playoffs" that we were hearing at the beginning of the season. Missing the playoffs with 93-95 is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.

There is still much to look forward to :

TONIGHT - I am hoping that Sakic can get 3 points to give him 100 on the year. That would really be unbelievable.

THE DRAFT - always entertaining...I love the NHL Entry Draft every year.

JULY 1ST - FREE AGENCY ! ...and we'll actually have some $$ to spend this year !

You're right. I didn't hear the result until the score was 2-2, but checked other sources and found the Preds-Avs game probably finished around the time of the second Flames goal (was that the one that bounced off Smid's skate?).

Regardless, both teams played pretty poorly for what was supposed to be a critical game. I'm thinking the Wild or Ducks go to the finals this year...

Yeeehawww and that will mean the FEWEST amount of people watching the Stanley Cup Finals in NHL history. Way to put 'em to sleep, lemaire.

I've been pulling for you guys Big time. A Friend of mine is really into you guys, so it def persuaded me to cheer for ya guys. The Emotion and Heart that your team had to not die was amazing to watch. Burnaby Joe def kept pushing until the last possible chance to get in.

again its been fun to watch your great mix of Youth and Vets make such a Push.

Hope to see even more next season!

Good run, Avs!! I'd say they're my second fav team in the west (wayy behind my Canucks, though ). Mainly because of your God-like captain. I'm scared to see what will happen when Joe reaches his peak at 56 .
