Regardless, the consensus is that Toronto management is pushing rather hard to add to its defense -- and not just depth guys, but on the order of #1, #2 defense guys to plug in to the blueline. Ferguson does not appear to share that confidence in his blueline.
True, but that doesn't change the fact that Kidd sucks.

If he can't even make routine stops, how is that the defence's fault?

Ding Ding Ding..!!!!!!!
Thank you Drake. I don't think it matters what goalie Toronto has in nets right now the defense is leaving them out to dry. Granted Kidd is playing like crap and I think an upgrade there or giving the roll to Telly is another solution but the fact remains the defense needs to tighten up alot and stop hanging the goalies out to dry.

Tellqvist is 3-0-2 behind the same defence and I don't need to vouch for Belfour's numbers.

The best guys to go after because of their talent would be Gerber in Ana or Fernandez in Minny. Too bad Gerber wouldn't come cheap! DUCKS FANS, what would he cost??

Gerber's one of the top (3) backups in the league.

A guy who can start and play well... I'd give up Pilar for that.

Yeah Gerber's numbers were better than Giguere's last year. Although in far less games of course. If anyone watched NHL2Night he was one of Darren Pangs top 5 surprise goalies of the year, and he also said about him having maybe the best speed from side to side in the crease of any goalie.

As for the Pilar offer, I doubt Murray would move Gerber unless the return is a little better than that. Really don't have any reason to move him unless someone offers something that really interests Murray.

Pilar would be great in Anaheim.

Young defenseman with a forwards mentality and can throw some nasty hits.
