no way the sens take another center... a defenceman would make way more sense

I would be STOKED, if the Sharks got Szechnikov, but I'd also be pretty pissed if Marner, Werenski, and Roy all went within 4 picks before us and I'd hope we'd move up.

solid mock, really like it as a Penguins fan.
Dennis Malgin and Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson are two guys I would definitely include in my Top 60.

Both of them were close to making it Karlsson was 63'rd and Malgin was 74'th on my list I had a top 120 prospects but I feel I didn't have enough info on some of the less known prospects so I kept it to a two round mock draft

A darkhorse that will rise all year is Gabriel Gagne. He has the size and skill to be a first rounder.

My dark horse is Adam Musil has size and skill but hasn't proven to be in the 1'st round in such a deep draft. In my mind stock could rise to top 15

Does he have the offensive potential to be a top 15 pick in a deep draft? I've heard that hes more of a two-way type of player.

Yes i heard he has good offensive potential. If he reaches it he could be one of the best 2-way players in the draft. Along with his size it makes him a possible top 15 draft pick. My bet he goes in late first round.

Fun Fact: Adam Musil is brothers with David Musil the Oilers 31 overall pick and his uncle is Bobby Holik.

I don't see the Sabres taking a goalie that high but if we got those other players, look out for us in a few years.

Canucks would take Barzal over White as none of our center prospects have his offensive upside plus hes another BC boy

^ Why is picking a goalie out of the equation? They could use another goaltending prospect.

Not really. We have Ullmark who is a blue chip goalie along with Lieuwen,Petersen and Makarov. Goalies are a crap shoot, throw them to the wall and hope they stick.

We also drafted Johansson so taking a goalie in such a stacked draft makes very little sense. In rounds 5 or 6 it would be fine but not in the 2nd.

Always take the best player available early. Who cares who you have, take the best. Who'd want to pass up a great center because they already have Crosby? Trade excess for what you lack.

A lot of the guys you list could go anywhere from 8-35, depending on others. When you have a guy like McDavid to compete with it raises so many players' games to another level. Marner is one guy who's benefitted from that. I can see several of your second round picks moving up to top 15. See what they do this year, who can sustain a strong year. I like Sprong, scores a bunch, fast, enthusiastic, hockey sense. He could go anywhere from 7 to 17.

I think Toronto would take one of the bigger centres like Strome at 8.

As of right now, i'd be plenty happy with Colin White for the Canucks. That makes sense, if they finish that high in the draft order again.

The second round though, it's pretty much gotta be a defenceman at this point. There really isn't much coming down the pipeline there, and the forward group is starting to get really crowded.

that would be an almost perfect first 2 rounds for the Sabres....a center, winger, d-man and goalie.

^none of the goalies in Buffalo's system are highly ranked and Ullmark is hardly a "blue chip" prospect. MacKenzie Blackwood is likely a better prospect than anything the Sabres already have, and the fact that they already have a lot of good forward and d-man prospects and will likely add McDavid/Eichel plus 2 more 1st round picks would make it very logical to take a top rated goalie in the 2nd round. (and just ask the Edmonton Oilers how well taking goalie in the mid to late rounds has worked out!).

I must have missed him dominate in two seasons against men.
