I did read the post and I'm not really sure the question you are asking.

You were claiming that I have a lack of hockey knowledge, I then listed off a number of issues that prove you to be wrong, pertaining to my read and opinion of those issues prior to when they were dealt with.

And I still don't think you got what I meant in my rationality argument. My opinions come from a rational basis, and you seem to disregard this, maybe you should think twice as to WHY I'm saying what I am with so much confidence.

I interupt this debate with these messages...

Two prisoners look through their window. One sees the mud. The other the stars.

I love this saying which is all about perspective. I generally like reading posts by both of you Dawgbone and Loudmouth. Dawgbone, you challenge many sweeping generalizations made by many posters and, in so doing, serve as a Devil's Advocate in residence. Loudmouth, your posts are very insightful and often outrageous which leads to good debate.

In this discussion, I see two very polarized views of the current state of this hockey team. Dawgone placing faith in the Oiler management and their stated longterm, post CBA approach for success. Loudmouth you make many challenging arguments which question the current situation including management's suitability and decision-making. Both positions are very passionately stated with very valid points.

It seems to boil down to two very different perspectives. Great food for thought. I just hope you can both keep it respectful and don't let this deteriorate into a personal war. You are both better than that.

Idiot savant out!

There comes a time when we heed a certain call

When the world must come together as one

There are people dying

And it’s time to lend a hand to life

The greatest gift of all

We can’t go on pretending day by day

That someone, somewhere will soon make a change

We are all part of god’s great big family

And the truth, you know, love is all we need

Chorus:
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives

It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

Send them your heart
So they’ll know that someone cares

And their lives will be stronger and free

As God has shown us by turning stones to bread

So we all must lend a helping hand

Chorus:
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

When you’re down and out, there seems no hope at all

But if you just believe there’s no way we can fall

Well, well, well, well let us realize that a change can only come

When we stand together as one

Chorus:
We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

We are the world, we are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let’s start giving

There’s a choice we’re making
We’re saving our own lives
It’s true we’ll make a better day
Just you and me

We are the world......

Digger, after our two posts, this thread runs the risk of degenerating into some freaky sort of new-agey, group hugging, hand-holding, Kumbaya singing freak show...

So this statement proves me wrong?

"I mean, Miro, Whitney, the Comrie thing, MacTavish, Horcoff, Cross, Dvorak, Isbister, Salo, none of that means anything does it?"

I'm completely lost, I don't think you could be anymore vague.

Rational? In other thread you out and out stated that Kevin Lowe lied about the playoffs. Your whole argument and anger is based on today when the Oilers have said countless times that life after the new CBA is the priority. You give no credit to a group of people who have a long range plan because you are pissed off about the short term. That is what makes your arguments irrational.

Yeah Simpson once broke an Oilers PP down on TV!!!

and then Stephen Hawking called him afterwards.

And when are you and Lowe gonna make like Paul and Teemu? I say Lowe isn't dumb like Smyth so you rip me?

It's cool, I can take it. Lots of things you could say about me but unintelligent wouldn't be one of them

He also did it for several other teams, but's let not water this delightful little chat down with trivial things like actual facts.

OK, whatever man:)

it would help if you would have correct spelling though when you called someone unintelligent

We'll see who's right about the Oilers and we'll keep checking Sweden to see if Lowe is up for any "big" awards.

you really want to get into a spelling and grammar war?

I mistakenly thought you might be a little more mature than to try and jump all over typos...

Thanks BHEL!

Then Digger comes in with 'We are the World'........awesome.

And lastly to DB, I thought it was a little more obvious, but I made a list of some of the important things with regards to this team that I was very much right on, I just didn't want to blatantly pull an 'i told you so' because I try to avoid that sort of thing.

And why is saying a GM lied to the fans irrational? It happens all the time, PR, spin, the ol twist of the truth.

I got lost because you were bringing up stuff you were allegedy right on 7 years ago (Whitney, Satan).

And honestly, saying you were right about something 7 years ago is a little weak.
