Just pulled the trigger on a great BOGO stick sale and picked up 4 spares of my favorite pro-stock sticks for a total of about $250. Super pumped. Should be all set on sticks for a long time now, and it's nice to finally be out of the "hmm, which blade pattern should I try next" phase. That was getting tiresome, and since I was doing it with the cheapest of the comp sticks, annoying since the feel (and weight) wasn't exactly optimal. Can't wait to show up to our team rat rental tomorrow night using that stick as a primary stick instead of the "it's my favorite, and I don't want to break it in a practice" backup

First game back on my Tuesday team last night - close game but I finished the 3rd with two quick goals to cap a hat trick and help us win is 7-3. Despite being 5-3, were mid-meltdown after letting in 2 quick ones ourselves.

Bit of a mail day from the Amazon sale. I've had the three white Diablo SE's but got the other 4 today. Pretty stoked.

L to R: Dynasty, DT2, Widow, Widow SE, Diablo x3. All LH 75 Gionta.

Three Diablos were $267 total back in March, the other four were $172 total. $439 total.

You got yourself an absolute steal...

Maybe you should try selling them on Craigslist for a nice little profit haha. You might even be able to recoup your cost completely without selling everything.

The idea is to hoard them since the Gionta curve is no more. That's not a bad idea though.

B-b-b-b-but I wanna use them! I do have some other sticks on the way that I'll probably end up selling. So maybe I can make up some ground from those.

Today I scored the game-winning overtime playoff goal in the semi-final to go to the championship in my league. Holy ****! Definitely on cloud nine. My buddy really did the work with a gorgeous assist, but wow! I hope some of you here have also felt that! Completely amazing! This is why we play the game.

Congrats! I'm still waiting on something like that. I can only imagine. Good luck in the championship!

Sorry to be spamming. Got these in today.

2x CCM U+12 skates + free rocket runners for $130 each. It's insanely hard to find skates that fit my feet so I snapped these up from HM while they were on sale. Should be good on skates for a long time.

x2 DT1 LT Zetterberg 100 RH - Bought for friends.

My low-tier team won their first championship tonight. Had a hat trick (including 2 shorties in 30 seconds) in the semi-finals, and 1g1a in the finals. Finally, I'm glad for some of these guys who have never won anything!

Can I be on your team? I haven't won anything.

Seriously, congrats. Sounds like fun.

Back on ice scrimmaging today after straining a groin about twelve days ago. Been doing some running but no skating. Took it pretty easy and came through okay. Had a good stretch before and felt good afterwards. Will take it easy through Saturday pick up and then try and pick up the tempo again next week.

They have some great deals going right now, but one bit of advice: I had picked up U+ pros from them a while back with the rocket runners...if you're not already friendly with your sharpener, don't expect them to like seeing you with those rocket runners. Apparently they're a nightmare to sharpen, and I've had people grind down a TON just trying to get one sharpening right. If the RR's were extra/on the side, I'd honestly sell them and buy "normal" steel to stay on my sharpener's good side (and feel a lot more confident that I'm actually getting a good sharpening every time).

Not trying to bring you down though - that's still a great deal for those skates!

I sharpen my own skates so no worries there. The RR did come on the side, skates have their own stock steel in them. It looks like the RR sell for $2 a pair on Ebay. No point in selling them I guess. Thanks for the heads up though!

So I bought two new top end sticks and used one for a camp where I shot a ton of pucks and the stick is quite a bit softer. Is it wrong that I want to break it intentionally during warranty to get a fresh one?

I wanted to play competitive hockey this year, but I couldn't find the money for it right now (I work part-time at McDonalds, lol) so it's back to rec league for me again this year. Didn't have a bad season last year for my first after 3 years of not playing (1g, 16p in 18gp) and I'm hoping to improve a lot. I registered today and the league starts in a few months.

Last night played open for the first time in two months. Had some pretty bad tendonitis in my left elbow that I had to rest to get it to clear up. Felt pretty good overall last night. Feel pretty beat up ALL OVER today. Worth it? Oh yeah!

That's awesome, man! I did pretty much the same thing. 17 years off, public skating and stick and puck from January '13 til "Draft Night" in September '13. Last night committed to my second season with the team that drafted me. It's been a great ride so far. Glad to see you hop aboard too! Best of luck!

No it's fine. The stick shouldn't go soft in a week of use. What model is it ?
