One thing that has been great about being here on the East Coast is exposure to some fantastic indies.

Of course, Matt Mays is amaz but here's 3 songs I bet you guys will love if you give them a chance (music snob approved )

Paper Lions - Philadelphia

The Playdates - Heaven Is Hard To Find

Slowcoaster - Fortune Teller's Heart

I'll give the other two a listen, but I already have some Paper Lions on my phone - fantastic stuff.

You're not a music snob, or at least you don't come across as one to me. Music snobs are only open to new stuff when THEY discover it first, otherwise they mock everything other people listen to. I think snobbery evolves out of insecurity, and most insecure people only feel good about themselves when denigrating others, and you don't seem like that at all.

And there's nothing wrong with pop(ular) music - it's popular for a reason, even if it's formulaic and repetitive.

Paper Lions was alright but didn't really like the other two. I'll give most music a chance though. Learned about 5 years ago that being the metalhead dick who put down every other kind of music was tiring and stupid.

So, I should start listing the country music you should be listening to right now?

Also, my posts per day had gone down so much, I started to fear that people would forget about me.

Last year Wagon Wheel was The Song, but the old country is still better. Willie Nelson. New country is just rock n roll, which isn't bad by any means, gets the ladies dancing.

Jet is right about the East Coast being the indie capital, I lived in Halifax in 2000 got exposed to a lot of music, mostly through Moosehead soundtracks.

Not true YWGinYYZ and I both really like your stuff and said so.....well I am putting words in YWG's mouth but I sensed he liked it by a positive post he made.

Your Walt Whitman reference was amazing, timely, and brought a tear to my eye.

I have seen Russell Wilson do one. Shaq also has a funny one although I hope he does one for real.

This is true. Even though I'm pretty sure Gin was focused more on my drop in posts per day...

I do enjoy poetry though. However, a friend of mine lost my favorite poetry book, and I realized that when I was looking for poetry to quote in here.

In other news, Ho-Sang's career is gonna be interesting to follow. I can't help but feel that he'll bust because he thinks he knows better than everyone else.

Just started watching John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness. Now, it's entirely possible that this is just me being a wimp who can't handle scary movies, but it's scaring the living crap out of me.

Can't believe he came out and trashed hockey Canada for not inviting him to the WJ camp? Tough to make Hockey Canada Look smart lately but Josh pulled it off

I don't even get it. I mean, he was a good player in the OHL, but nothing extraordinary. I don't get why people are talking about him as if the only thing standing in his way is his attitude.

Just read the story on TSN. He sounds like he has a very punchable face.

He plays a highly individual, one dimensional game, and he was a late 1st round pick and as an 18 year old with a "Tude" why would you bother trying to bring him into a team setting for a short tournament? Better players than him have been rebuffed and taken their lumps like men.

Huh. And the first half was so good. Such a good build up, for such a weak payoff.

I thought the kid deserved an invite, but come on, you need to keep that to yourself. He is just going to burn bridges doing stuff like that.
