Gagne is now working as a TV analyst for TVA Sports. He is done as an NHL player.

If he would train for a return to center the Oilers might be interested. I say "might." I'm not sure how much the wheels have fallen off.

He's 36, which is a bit old for a forward but not the usual retirement age for a high end skill guy like him

He's 34, not 36.

I was totally thinking this. I loved Gagne in his prime, regardless of whether or not he was a Flyer. He was great with Mario in the Olympics too. I'd take a flyer on the guy with a training camp invite. If it doesn't work out then it doesn't work out. Worth a shot. Doesn't cost a damn thing.

Always liked Gagne as a player but from what I recall he looked pretty done last time he played.

Hopefully some time away has him a bit better physically but if it is anything like Paul Ranger you just kind of lose a step when you walk away for a while like that.

I once screamed this over and over again at Bill Clement at a Flyers game, asking how he liked hearing it repeatedly. I swear that line was spoken twice a game if Gags was playing lol.

Politely leaving out his lack of skating competence. This is a big deal in a league where skating is becoming ever more important.

his last stint with the flyers he was skating better than he had in years

and even when he wasnt skating 'gagne-like' he was still fine. not sure why you think skating is/was his problem....

His what? Gagne was always a strong skater. But his head and neck got scrambled.

I thought he was going to training camp with the Bruins hoping to catch on?

Gagne to the Flyers from the Kings was probably the weirdest trade I have ever seen. The Kings got a conditional pick ... that condition being the Flyers NOT making the playoffs.
Los Angeles will get a third-round pick if Philadelphia makes the playoffs or a fourth-round pick if the Flyers miss the postseason.
