Pavel Bure

What's happening with him? will he ever be able to play hockey again? It would be nice to see him play with Kovy, Kovy he would get more than 47 points a year for sure and media are always talking about influence on the youngsters, I believe he would have a very good one especially on Perez and Kost.

He would be a nice addition to our coaching staff since we got so many russians in our organization and I bet we will have some more after the draft..

While we're at it, what's this Gretzky guy up to these days? He'd be a great fit on our second line.

Bure had chronic knee problems in New York and I believe he was even having trouble walking at one point. He was amazing though scored some of the best goal's in the histroy of hockey.

He was recently interviewed on the TEAM 1040 in vancouver.

Apparently, his General Manager duties were only a one time thing and that was for the olympics.

As for the chances of him coming back, I'd say that they are zero. The motive isn't there. He enjoyed his time in the NHL, he has no regrets, and he's moved on. Plus, even if he wanted to come back, his knee is still problematic.

Really? That's too bad, for an entertainment aspect it'd have been nice to watch their "best-on-best" teams play with that vigor more often as they seemed to be unwilling to let Pavel down in '06.

And does it still amaze everyone knowing that he's still only like 37?

yeah, its too bad. He was the most electrifying player of the 90's. But guys with his all out and no fear style always run the higher risk of a shortened career.

As far as the russian players playing with extra motive because of Pavel being the GM, I dont know about that. I think some of the veteran russians weren't thrilled with the selection including kovalev who said something to the extent of: I play for my country, not for Pavel. Russian Hockey is never without its fair share of politics.

He just turned 36. Let's hire him as an assistant coach to whoop our Russian Habs' ass!

lol sounds as though I'm out of my element when discussing the Russian Hockey Federation having not followed it closely for a while

for real

The guy has no knees left. Maybe Kovy can push him around the ice in wheel chair.

What a player! My all time favorite for sure!

His goal against Boston in 1996-97 was the beautiful goal I ever saw.

Pavel Bure is sick. Afinogenov reminds me a bit of Bure.

Um, should Mogilny, and Nedved join him as well? 400 goals doesn't give you the right to go to the HOF.

Bure's my favorite hockey player of all time. I got posters of him, the Stanley Cup and Saku on the wall next to my pc.

EDIT: You guys might also want to check out this vid as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsSzk...elated&search=

Check out the play he made on his first shift in the NHL!

Didn't Habs make an insane offer to acquire him in 1998? You guys remember what was the rumored offer?
