Still boom or bust though starting to lean more towards boom now that his transition to the NA game was that easy.
Pirri cost a 3rd and a 5th, no way Pulkkinen is worth more with less proven.

Don't know what Detroit's needs are, but a 1on1 swap around Shore or one of the d-man prospects could be interesting.

I think that would be a pretty good deal for the Panthers, if that's what he would cost.

Not going to go deep into comparing those two, but could be that Pirri was actually undervalued:

" Beyond the first round.

This is where the NHL dream begins to fade in a hurry:
From 1990 to 1999, about one-quarter of the players selected in the second round turned into NHL career players.

Those drafted in the third round and beyond are really up against it.
From over 2,000 players selected in the third round and beyond during 1990s, just 261 made it as NHL career players. That's about 12 percent"

I'd say both Pirri and Pulkkinen are looking more like 25% chance of making the NHL, Pirri had even already shown he could handle the NHL game. Even when Pulkkinen hasn't had a chance in the NHL his game is often compared to Brett Hull. His shot arsenal is very much NHL 1st line material.

I feel like there's zero reason to give that up for a 3rd round pick. Early second might be enough.

Though I don't really see why Pirri was let go for 3rd and 5th.

Key sentence is right there. NHL GMs simply just don't pay premium for good AHL scorers, Pulkkinen belongs to that group currently.

Pretty sure there's a general prospect thread on every team board, and we have posters from other teams pop up here to ask about certain players, their ceiling, trade value etc. It's not OT at all.

AHL Released it's full schedule today.

The Rampage play in the "Outlier" Division.

Craziness ensues.

Thanks Mick. A lot of thought and work went into the revamp and I'm extremely thrilled with how it turned out.

Now if only the Rampage can live up to the website...

Just noticed the Abbotsford Heat do not exist in the AHL anymore.

I was thinking about going to a Heat/Rampage game, but I guess there is no chance of that now!

Highlights of the Rampage's 1st preseason game. Butler went into "moar score" mode and Ellis was Ellis.

Reading the report from the last preseason game for the Rampage, these were the 2 lines mentioned which I'm sure most will like:

Howden-Shore-Grimaldi
McFarland-Trocheck-Mancari

From the previous game, I saw one line as:

Wilson-Froese-Butler

Freose was on a tryout and slated for the ECHL so I would assume Brett Olson slots in between those 2 most likely.

Now that the roster is pretty much set, I can take a stab at line combos.

Howden/Shore/Grimaldi
Wilson/Trocheck/Butler
McFarland/Martindale/Mancari
Brickley/Froese/Olson
Turgeon/Hodges/Shaw

Zanon/Petrovic
O'Brien (if he clears)/Weegar
Racine/Kampfer
Taker
McFadden

Ellis
Houser
