Habs: "Save it for the PRACTICE ice!!!"

The habs seem to be brawling alot this year... unfortunately the tilts remain between themselves. Koivu vs. Ribeiro in a Clash of the Titans being the latest. That makes 2 this year, and 3 in the last year and a half.

Just curious, as many people agree that players fighting in practice seems to be the norm... how many other teams have had this such problem recently, thanx.

Bertuzzi and Morrison went at it awhile back.

Rutuu and Cooke went after each other in practice too ... oddly enough that was just before Rutuu began turnign it around.

I'm pretty sure that Cooke and Ruutu have dropped the gloves with each other and Bertuzzi got nasty with someone too but I can't remember who it was with. I think it happens occasionally within all teams... probably moreso if the team is struggling a bit; just frustration.

That's what's happening for the Habs recently. They're not playing too well, and some emotional players like Koivu or Rivet are getting a but frustrated. I'm a Habs fan and i don't mind that, they're just showing their intensity in a different way, now if only they could bring that to the real games sometimes...

Paul Kariya and Pavel Trnka went at it in practice not too long ago. That had to be quite a sight.

The New York Islanders had two different fights breakout in practice over the course of a few weeks not that long ago. One of them came after Oleg Kvasha supposedly took a few extra swipes at Garth Snow's pads going for a goal. Snow reportedly lost it.

bertuzzi and aucoin were once best friends but got into a fued. it was so bad to the extent of where, on one occasion, aucoin took a slapshot and hit bertuzzi during practice. soon thereafter, aucoin (coincidence?) took another slapshot and hit ohlund in the eye during practice. he was soon traded thereafter to tampa (when they were a bottom 3 team in the league), along with a 2nd rounder, for dan cloutier since he was obviously ruining team chemistry

Last year Primeau busted Chris McAllister's face up in a fight at practice.

When Brad Ference was still a Canuck, he decided to go at it with Mattias Ohlund. Gee, I wonder who's leaving due to team chemistry problems...

Then there was the time that Bertuzzi was insulting Morrison about his lack of hair.

Bertuzzi: "Man, you're sure bald for a 26-year-old."

Morrison: "You're an a-hole... I'm only 25."

It went something like that.

Primeau is no stranger to this type of stuff. He dropped the gloves with Probert when they were both with the Wings many moons ago. It was when Primeau was still very young, and I remember Probert basically bear-hugging him. Lucky for Keith too, becuase Probie would have killed him.

Morrison: "Hey Todd, you should just call your wallet an onion. You keep looking like you're going to cry when you open it."

In that stupid 'Sessions' thing on PPV they asked Naslund if Bert really was grumpy like that all the time:

"Uh .. (looks over to Bert who's all grinning under his cap) ... yeah, he's pretty cheery and bubbly all that time ... I think that's what he wants me to say ... "

Ouch! I remember watching Snow throttle Shields in the 97 playoffs. .. and then skating back to a smiling Ron Hextall on the bench.

Hextall: you have learned well my young padawan

I couldn't find a more relevant thread, but honestly - who wouldn't want to kick this guy's ass?

The caption read that this was during the national anthem - perhaps just a yawn caught at the wrong moment?
