You knew it by the end of game 2. Kovy was toast. Puppet on a string! Avery controls the strings.

What? No one was saying they play a similar game, or comparing their skill levels...

Kovalchuk has had 51, 67, 87, 98 and 76 points in his first five seasons. He's still only 24. I'd say he's already a beast.

agreed.

but right now hes Averys *****. and i say that in the nicest way possible. avery has gotten under his skin in a big way, and kovalchuk just isnt thinking hockey. this is what avery was brought here to do, all the other stuff was just a bonus.

I'm surprised how aggressive Kovalchuk is. I didn't think that was his M.O.

Then again, the more time he spends running Avery, the less time he has with the puck. I'm not complaining.

I am surprised as well. I like that edge that he has. He needs to reign it in a little, but it's nice to see that fire in a superstar like Ilya.

on the poll, yes definatly.

Kovy overall? That's a dude we should be looking to take a run at when he's UFA he's like the goalscoring version of forsberg, snarl and all. I'm sure he'll learn to control his emotion just fine.

Obviously he has gotten to him. Avery is such a key part to this team. It's incredible. I knew he would help the team when they got him, but I didn't think he'd do this much.

Kovalchuk hasn't been able to find himself in the playoffs, he's using Avery as an excuse. He's playing horrible and why not let it be on Avery, for an excuse to not show up in the playoffs

according to the Thrashers moderator, Avery is selfish and will turn the series in Atlanta's favour.

Avery isn't a selfish player, he feasts on them, as shown in games 2 and 3.

A message forum open to all discussion? Unheard of.

Seriously though dude, didn't mean any offense. It's just your original post made me think you may have misinterpreted the thread topic. My mistake.

Seannnn. Love what you're doing, even though it'd all be better in a Kings jersey. Keep it up Aves.

Definitely was.

And Avery definitely has. Kovalchuk looked like he was gonna explode, like he had no idea what to do anymore, Avery is in his head big time, hes a cerebral weapon, so much better for this team than i ever could have dreamed.

Definitely.

Kovalchuk actually dropped the gloves with him, that's when you know Avery is at his very best.

Kovalchuk is frustrated because aside from the goal in game 2, he's pointless in this series, as well is Hossa. Kozlov has been a no-show, and I'm tired of mentioning Fatchuk, as he is a complete non-factor. He hasn't even taken penalties, he's as useless as a one-legged man in an ass-kicking contest.

I knew Tkachuk was a no-show offensively, but he's not throwing checks like he used to, and he's not even taking penalties. It's like having a roving pylon out on the ice.

actually kovalchuk was too much of a (rhymes with) wussy to drop the gloves. he fought with them on, and he wears a visor.
