Where is Kaspar?

Last I heard was that he broke down crying on the Wolf Pack bench during a practice, and I haven't heard/read anything since. Anyone know how he is doing?

Funny this comes up today, Do a thread search, this topic has been covered, The reason its funny that it comes up today, I heard that Kasper has some Drinking isuess as well as a couple of other things that may have contributed to his breakdown. Now I'm not saying this is 100 accurate, but it is what I was told recently.
From what I understand he is doing better.

Couldn't find all the old threads (I know there have been several), so I don't know if this has been posted yet:

Kasparaitis Back

Defenseman Darius Kasparaitis rejoined the Pack for the first time since being hospitalized March 2. "It was personal things, some emotional stuff," Kasparaitis said. "It was scary, but I'm good now."

Kasparaitis, recovering from lingering problems from offseason groin surgery, hasn't played since Feb. 9.

"Players are usually here for the team, but we're here for Darius and his needs, to help him find his game and mental state," Schoenfeld said. "If he's not able to go the rest of this year, at least he'll have a head start for next season."
Sounds like they're planning for him to be around still next year.

I really love Kaspar and his positive attitude that he has brought to the Pack. I remember a number of quotes from him earlier this season, talking about how he loved teaching the kids the ropes and being a positive influence. I hope all is well with Kaspar, both mentally and physically, and I'd love to have him back playing with the Pack next season. And if he retires, I'd offer him a job within the organization. He's a good guy to have around.

I'll take Kaspar on Hartford ANYDAY. But yeah, he hasn't played in so long. Been announced as a scratch every night, so he's on the roster.

He's definitely back in Hartford, I saw him after the Wolf Pack's game against Bridgeport on March 13th. He got a haircut, too. I doubt that he will get back into the Wolf Pack lineup though.

I liked Kaspar a lot however his demotion and Girardi's promotion can be seen as a turning point to the season. Giving Kaspar a job within the organization would be great. Letting him collect his huge paycheck (and off our cap) in Hartford is fine but I think his time with the big club may be done.

That's great news! I assume the personal stuff had something to do with the divorce.

Is that really a question for now?

Sit the player that he's better than at that time when/if he's coming back.

My point is Kaspar is not better than any defensema currently with the Rangers.

Sure but no one is saying he will be back now. Things could be very different next year and he deserves just as much of a chance as anyone else.

It'd be great if he could make that comeback. Too bad he's not good enough to start for the Rangers anymore.

not with that contract he doesn't...It's a shame players can't resign for LESS money during a contract but i guess it sets a bad precedent...

Kaspar was given chance after chance to prove himself to Renney...He didn't show up in shape....he mouthed off to the press....he had a nervous breakdown.....he played on 1 team that made the playoffs...he was hurt a lot...

I can list more reasons why kaspar has played his last game as a Ranger....

You mean when he's a year older and the Rangers have younger, less expensive guys who are already playing (along with guys who are close to being ready)? He's done with this team. And most likely this league.

Look as a guy who's favorite player is Brian Leetch, I know how hard it is to let go of the guy. It's that time for Kasparaitis.

Why wouldn't I hope for the best?

If he could regain his form from last season I don't see how he shouldn't be a part of this team.

I think Kasper's time in NY has come to pass, He could still be packaged in some type of Trade in a salary for salary type of exchange.

Because even at his best last season he wasn't better than any Ranger defenseman playing right now. He'll be 35 in October, he's not getting any better, younger or healthier.
