Kolzig and Turco don't make my top 15 list. Turco had one great season. He had several average ones before that. Kolzig has just always been horribly overrated.
Belfour before his injury would be pushing the top 5.
Raycroft is having a nice year as well.
How do you leave Turco off for that reason and then include Aebischer?

If you look strictly at the numbers, Duane Roloson deserves consideration - last season he finished 2nd in save %(.927) and 3rd in GAA (2.00). This season he is 1st in save % (.933), and 4th in GAA(1.93). I know Minny plays a defensive system, but Kuba and Mitchell aren't exactly Blake and Foote out there. He's been real solid and reliable.

He is having ANOTHER damn good season this year, especially when you consider his putrid start. Not to mention playing with a broken foot for the past few weeks. And the average seasons before? What are you talking about? He was a backup to Ed Belfour for 2 years, and put up great numbers in both years. I dont understand the disrespect for Turco. I think he has pretty much earned his stripes. And this coming from a Wings fan who hates the Stars and the Michigan Wolverines.

Without Belfour the Leafs would be nowhere so it makes perfect sense to say he isn't one of the top 5 goalies in the league. And to say that his injury hampers his inclusion would be like me saying that Naslund would be a top 5 forward, but because of his recent injury he isn't.

Not to be mean here, but I think its simply idiotic to NOT have Turco in your top 5 or 6 goalies. He is the sole reason the Stars are where they are. And he has put up great numbers for 4 years now. Whether it be as a backup or a starter. His numbers are phenomenal. The only reason to not have him there are personal reasons. Get over it....the guy is for real.

Average? He was a backup and these were his stats :

Code:
YR TM GP MIN W L T GA GAA SOG SV SV% ENG SO
00-01 Dal 26 1266 13 6 1 40 1.90 532 492 .925 1 3
01-02 Dal 31 1518 15 6 2 53 2.09 670 617 .921 4 2
Neverthless you include Abby and Rolo. Abby is in his first year and I don't remember hearing anything about Rolo before last year with regard to what an amazing goalie he was. Hell, he wasn't even the Wild's full time playoff goalie.

Here's those "average" numbers for Turco:

Career Regular Season Stats
Season Team GP MIN W L T GA SO Avg
2000-2001 Stars 26 1,265 13 6 1 40 3 1.90
2001-2002 Stars 31 1,518 15 6 2 53 2 2.09
2002-2003 Stars 55 3,202 31 10 10 92 7 1.72
2003-2004 Stars 57 3,383 26 19 10 119 5 2.11

NHL Totals 169 9,370 85 41 23 304 17 1.95

Career Playoff Stats
Season Team GP MIN W L T GA SO Avg
2000-2001 Stars 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0.00
2002-2003 Stars 12 798 6 6 0 25 0 1.88

NHL Totals 12 798 6 6 0 25 0 1.88

He has 26 wins and a 2.11 GAA, and this is his WORST season.

Well, YOU said it, not me!

13-6-1 as a backup are good, not GREAT numbers (at least to me) for someone on such a strong team, but that's my opinion.

Its apparent you just have a tough time giving credit to the guy.

13-6-1...1.90 GAA...and a .925 Save %????

Those arent great numbers? Wow...you are hard to impress. What would he have to do for you to give him the credit he deserves? He has been outstanding since he first entered the league. What is your TRUE hang up with him? Has to be a personal issue.

You dont have Turco in your top 15 because you think he only has 1 good season under his belt. But yet, you have Aebischer as #2???

I am signed on under my sons id, but the Hockeyhomer99 respect hockey genius when he see's it.. Not only has Turco set a modern day record for GAA but also shared the Jennings trophy with Belfour for for lowest GAA in 1999, I believe that is the right name for the trophy..As a pro Marty has never had a GAA high 2.20 and never had a save % below .920.. How many on that list can say that..Hobby, Rolo, Louogo, Theodore, Voucon, Turek, Osgood, Potvin, Cujo... Maybe only Roy, Marty B, Hasek... At least they dont smoke crack in Det.. BTW, we cant stand "YALL" either, and Hatcher can still kiss our pucks... Hockeyhomer99 lives and pets the coati..

I am a Wings fan first and foremost. But I give credit where credit is due. Marty Turco is a fantastic goalie. To not have him in the elite class of NHL goaltenders is simply absurd. Idiotic.
