Timmander hurt?

Timmander suffered an injury leading to a 5-minute major in today's Philly-Atlanta game? Was taken off, did not return? It lead to three Philly goals. Anyone see the play?

Timmander is already back on the ice.

It was a flimsy charging call, Petrovicky led with his hands and never left his feet. The intent to injure major call by Dave Jackson was nothing less than utter incompetence.

Timander was injured, the guy could barely stand up.

Exactly. Petro loves to take 30 foot runs at people (which last time he did that versues the Flyers ended up getting his ass handed to him by Vandermeer), and this time it end up being from behind as well. Timmander was cut and shook up as well.

He turned his back at the last second, it was from the side at the very least.

Either way it was a lousy intent to injure call. Just because you see blood does not make a minor a major.

Every hit like that is called "o he turned is back at the last second." Roenick hit Modano and it looked like Modano "turned at the last second" and he got suspended for it. He ran him from behind from about 30 feet away without letting up at all, it was a solid call.

I thought that's the way it was written in the rulebook.

But it wasn't from the side. Petrovicky's shoulder hit Timander squarely between the shoulder blades. And there wasn't just blood, Timander was clearly concussed, even if only momentarily.

It was a dump in. What is Petro supposed to do, lollygag his ass into the zone?

I think any neutral fan who sees this play will agree that it was a borderline minor and an outrageous major.

Honestly, I could care less about the penalty, I'm more pissed that right now there is no one on the Flyers who can beat down Petro like Vandy did before. But I honestly could see the arguement for both sides, and they gave the major more likely because Timmander was shoke up.

Well I am pissed that we lost Tomas Kloucek(mild concussion) for the game in the 2nd period thanks to a butt end to the head from a Flyer, but that only got a 2 minute penalty. So the Thrashers ended up playing 2 men short on the bench for the rest of the game.

O please, and the highstick that hit Zhamonov that didn't get call, and Exelby repeatedly punching John Leclair in front of the net, lots of stuff didn't get called. Next you'll be saying the refs handed the Flyers the game because of the penalty shot.

Was a penalty no question, but I have seen plays with a cleaer intent not called (Roberts from the blue line to Kenny Jonsson in the corner behind the red line in he 02 playoffs.
