Report: Belfour out for tonight.

According to the PenaltyBox, Mikael Tellqvist will start against Montreal tonight.

Eddie Belfour's injury is starting to concern me.

Hopefully Telly will kick ass and shut down the Habs, proving he can be consistently good in more than one-game spurts....

I'm torn. I don't like to see Eddie injured, but I want him resting as long as he can to get as good as he can

Has this been verified by the Leafs yet, because Quinn logic dictates that Kidd gets the start.

This is the worst thing that can happen to the Leafs. I guess they're not resting him like some people were saying a few days ago..

Oh well at least he's better than Kidd.

At first I was not too concerned, but now i'm really hoping this is just "rest" and nothing more.

That might be it. Quinn seeing how well, TellQ played on Thursday, decided to put him in, instead of pushing Belfour back in.

Hahahahahahaha, ya, laugh out loud . This trade is a disgrace to all Leaf prospects, players, and management. It's posts like these that should not be allowed on these boards.

Belfour's been quoted as saying if these were the playoffs, he'd be playing. Its a miinor, nagging injury he just doesn't want to affect him in the playoffs.

I don't buy it.

We're neck and neck for 1st place in our division and in our conference with Ottawa and Philly. This isn't a good time to be resting your best. A couple of points here and there could mean the difference between home ice for the playoffs, an easier opponent, or finishing fourth and having to play someone like NJ.

I don't think it's out of the question to say that Belfour is done for the year. Youre right, we need all the points we can get so we don't have to play the Devils 1st round in playoffs. I'd much rather play some crapshoot of a team like the Isles.

If Belfour is indeed out for the year, it won't matter who we play in the playoffs in the first round. With a good finish we could take out a weaker team, and win a round, but I think our chances of coming out of the east, nevermind winning the cup would be zero. Unless Tellqvist pulls a Patrick Roy...

Quinn says he is under a 10-14 day rehab program and that he was never realistically expecting him by this time. A bad back is a hit and miss thing. He may be fine in a few weeks and that's the end of it for the rest of the year. Maybe not.
